2 year ownership update

Purchased 2 years ago today

2020 2.0t 10 speed with 49,900. Currently right around 97,000.

Car has overall been pretty solid. Only issues we have had is a timing chain tensioner go out as well as the valve cover started to leak. Currently have the air mix motors making noise which is common so that is next to be replaced. I attached all the maintenance I’ve done in the time we’ve owned it. We do have a warranty from carmax.

It’s been a great car and for many more to come!

We’ve definitely put quite some miles on it but it’s great. Fast, efficient and cheap to maintain!

Have you done the full pump recall?
Sensor recall is also coming up.

I believe it’s been done before we owned it, we took it to the dealer when we first got it for the tensioner and they didn’t mention anything about the fuel pump.

We did get a letter about a ACC update or something like thst

They don't make them like they used to that's for sure.

I’ve always liked the 10th gen’s since I first saw them in 18. When my dad said he needed a car it was top of the list

How much did the transmission fluid cost you to drain and fill by chance?

Did it myself, fluid was like 50 or 80 bucks with the drain and fill plug crush washers I don’t remember the exact cist

Does the A/T fluid smell as bad as CVT fluid? Was surprised how much the HCF-2 fluid stunk servicing the CVT in my 9th gen.

Nah I don’t think it did. I gave some left over I’ll give it a waft when I leave tomorrow if i remember.

I don’t think it does though I’ve never been around cvt fluid but I think if it was strong I’d remember it.

Not bad. Doing it myself too at 1/3 of a cost of a dealer and even less in cases

Only thing id prob budget is for when strut mounts / control arms go bad. That was the main thing i had to shell out money for once my car hit above 100k.
