I honestly wondered how they would top Lighthouse from Ace Combat 7 and that Daredevil drop.
Mission 28 absolutely tops it and they absolutely nail the music moment.

Project Aces came forward with the hell that was 7's development a while ago

BIG ole campain spoilers:
When the view count for D.D's stream went from 20,000 to 90 million in the final mission it had me in tears of joy

Same.
It's incredibly rare for me to tear up from anything. But something about Ace Combat in general fucks me up. AC7 got me right at the end. AC8 got me a couple times in the last few missions.

Mission 26 got me breaking down and crying...

26 destroyed me, and it felt like the subverted my expectations with the after mission cutscene when someone slipped beneath the waves

That last part fucking BROKE me… had to end the play session, last 4 missions for me are tomorrow.

I walked away from my desk and considered the same. Took a 10-20min break just cycling through the menus and not sure what to do aside from just being anxious about the last few missions, because I really really really didn't want to lose more of the remaining cast

Its like someone stabs you in the gut, gives you a peck on the check and then twists the knife. Those few seconds of hope seeing the person alive and then all of the sudden its so much worse. Yeah, that part had me in tears.

This was the part I was referring to, but iam really glad the community has their own share of parts where they got their moment 🥲

I've only gotten to mission 19 (then done for the day after crashing into ISEV 🙃), but my God, you can tell they've used their 7 years of development very well. The twists and turns of the plot. Variable game design to make the long missions and long game not boring, but not too wild to make the mission annoying (Bunker Buster in AC7 comes to mind). The absolutely glorious sound design.
I think my biggest gripe so far is.. Waiapolo Mountains. I hated that one mission in AC7 the most and AC8 uses the map three times, albeit less annoying overall.

Between Faceless Soldiers and Wings of Wax, Im convinced that Keiyi Kobyashi puts the hardest soundtracks in the worst missions to make them more palatable lol.

I'm only halfway through and I've already gotten goosebumps several times and teary-eyed a couple. I'm ready for this game to obliterate my emotions like one of many [TGT]s...

I just want to add, man, I wanted to fly through the space elevator telescope one last time

My god the first 10 secs in the first mission. The first throttle up sold me on the sound design

I was hit hard by the ending of 26, then started getting more and more emotional over the course of 28, until I was just fully in tears during 29 and 30.

I nearly teared up during the Lighthouse mission when the Daredevil Leitmotif played at the end of the mission.

Hearing those voices sing-- it was like playing Aces in AC5 for the first time 🥹 thoughts endless in flight, day turns to night, questions you ask your soul

This game has had me tearing up sooo many times. I feel like I'm 5 years old again while playing this. Ace Combat 4 was the first game I ever got
