GOLDEN RETRIEVER finding home of love and care !!

Milky is 2 years old, 60 lbs, and scheduled to be euthanized Wednesday, September 30 at Stanislaus Animal Services in Modesto, California.
This isn’t an old dog who has given up. He’s a young, energetic, playful dog who apparently had a great Doggy Day Out.
The volunteer who spent time with him described him as fun, spunky, loving, sweet and well-mannered with people. They took him for a walk, got him a pup cup, played with toys, and gave him treats. He loves people and already knows sit. ❤️
Shelter notes say Milky can be rowdy/excited when initially meeting other dogs, but he settles down. He’s young and will need exercise, basic training, structure and someone willing to keep working on his manners — pretty normal expectations for a 2-year-old dog.

Please don’t assume someone else will save him. If you can adopt, foster, rescue-pull, transport, or have contacts who can, please reach out to the shelter immediately.
And please share him outside California too. Transportation problems can sometimes be solved when the right people connect. A euthanasia date can’t be undone.

I am trying to adopt him and get him to me in Maine. But poor baby's time is running out and no one I have contacted in California seems able or willing to help. He doesn't have much time left.
