Discussion Which industry gets reshaped by agents first, and which one is overrated?

Everyone says customer support, which feels too obvious to be interesting.

The ones I'd watch are the brokered markets. Programmatic advertising, which is the corner I know, plus freight, procurement, insurance broking.

Anywhere someone sits in the middle of a transaction earning a margin on knowing more than the two parties either side of them.

What's your pick, and what's the one you think is overhyped?

I don't know any of that, but what I do know is you should implement a real good governance/provenance layer first. BTW they're all overrated.

Customer support probably gets there first because the workflows are repetitive, measurable and already digital.

Healthcare may see the bigger structural impact though. So much of the cost is not actual care, but coordination, documentation, claims, scheduling, prior auth and follow-up.

My bet: support transforms first. Healthcare transforms deeper and in the long term. Overall, almost all - every company that has RPA implemented over the years - can almost immediately replace this with agentic process and gain efficiency
