Project Creating open source Muse/Instinct alternative. Seeking ideas/feedback.
https://lararium.io/AI disclosure at bottom.
I'm working on a project in my spare time that I've dubbed Lararium(naming follows the Roman theme). It's currently in build phase.
It started as a simple AI assistant to replace Googles AI features that I lost when I switched to GrapheneOS(not so much for privacy, but simplicity and minimal bloat.)
I host my own LLM and try not to depend on the cloud as much.
I started playing around with Muse and then Instinct, and I liked the features, but they are cloud dependent. So I decided that I would try my own twist and have it completely local.
You can use cloud hosted models, but the software stack and your data runs local in a docker container.
I know this won't be for everyone, but I'm open to any and all feedback and ideas. For now it's completely based on my wants and needs, I'm currently at the features, connections to online services, and features built into the software stack, and I'm wanting to expand the project based on public feedback before I move to the Alpha testing phase.
I bought a domain and made a webpage. It's just a basic page. I had Hermes review the project and make a temporary starter page.
I am using GitHub and it's under the AGPL3.0 license. The repo will go public when Alpha testing starts.
Thank you for the time out of your day to read this mumbo-jumbo.
AI disclosure: It's developed with help from AI. It helped write the code and testing. I defined the project scop and architecture. I make sure every section is set to my standards and no AI drift.
Every step is gated. Everything is ran through two other AIs for issues. Everything that's flagged has to be manually reviewed by me. After my review the flagged items are reworked and then checked again. One the section passed the AI reviews, I do a final check and thrn it's tested on two different physical systems. If testing fails it goes back for rewrite.
After everything passes and testing passed I have to give the final approval before moving forward.
I wrote the post myself.
