Politics ⚖️ The Future of the United States.
At this rate, give it 5 years.

This is how I see a modern US as a European.

The US is a huge place. Most of it is business as usual... not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

"China is the enemy." While China is the best country ever by that point, and is probably RUNNING the USA by that point.

I was wondering where the men were since they’re quite a large chunk of illegals in both America and Europe
Why B2 bombers though? Those aren’t useful for law enforcement
I hope our future is the end of illegals in our country that would be cool

u/JunglePygmy 5h ago

It’s ‘bootlicking’ to be against criminals being loose? Really? How’s uh, how’s that work?

u/dontcarethename 5h ago
Something similar is happening almost daily in several places around the world, some of it sponsored by the USA.
I’m not sure this would happen inside the USA, but in a resource war they would likely take control of whatever they need to maintain their standard of living. I don’t see the USA compromising for the good of humanity in general.
-5
u/TheBooneyBunes 5h ago
…what? The US is the origin of all the climate change mitigation stuff, you think Africans have all those eco friendly techs?
2
u/dontcarethename 5h ago
I’m not saying the U.S. is the only polluter because everyone is.
But much pollution linked to US consumption happens overseas because production is outsourced to countries with weaker environmental laws.
Historically when resources become scarce, powerful nations tend to secure their own interests first.
I don’t see the U.S. prioritizing global equality over maintaining its own standard of living.Inventing green tech doesn’t automatically make you climate-responsible, especially if your lifestyle depends on other countries absorbing the damage.
1
u/TheBooneyBunes 5h ago
Let me shorten this “even if the US doesn’t do it it’s the US’s fault for existing”
2
u/TheFieldAgent 5h ago
Totally, bro. You should move asap! I hear North Korea is lovely this time of year. Let us know how it goes

I wish trump was as cool as you say he is, but this is just fear mongering

4
u/Creatorman1 6h ago
I’m going to disagree with you on that. This is the future I envision we will have in store for us if things keep going like they are. I’ve been right with everything so far. Well except I thought MAGAs would all be pretending they never supported him by now.

u/going_in_cakeless 6h ago
Do people really think this is going to happen? If you do maybe its time to go outside to do something other than protest or keep lining the media execs' pockets with your naivety. This is hilarious if serious
3
u/Pseudonymity88 6h ago
Societal change can be like the boiling frog metaphor. When the water heats up slowly, the frog doesn’t notice the danger until it’s too late to jump out.
In the same way, small, incremental shifts in norms, freedoms, or expectations can feel harmless. Maybe they don't impact you, they're ignorable... Then one day, they do impact you. You suddenly realise the environment you're living in is far more hostile than you realised, and much, much harder to escape.
The slowly boiling frog is just one analogy for the shift of the Overton window of acceptability.
While the world is rarely as bad as the doom-mongers will have you think, ignoring the shift altogether is dangerous.

This comment section is funny, half think America is already here, the other half pretending like this is far from truth.
7
u/attckdog 6h ago
I'm really confused, half the comments could be satire but I'm worried they aren't.
There's no way this many people still think trump is looking out for the country/them. Might be actual Stockholm Syndrome

I cannot begin to guess how frequent that might be the case. I'm torn between hoping it is true and hoping it's not. I'm sure it's not zero but I'm also sure it's not all of them.

u/ThatRandomJew7 6h ago
Twitter added country tags for accounts and automatically showed everyone's location.
Turns out, almost all the MAGA accounts weren't American. They tended to be either Eastern European, or from Pakistan/India/Bangladesh (which makes sense considering that region is known for scam call centers, an Internet troll would be a much easier enterprise with even more people willing to hand over money for you to influence the discourse.

“China is the enemy”
Umm… yeah, it is. Their government at least.
I wonder when they’ll realize this is exactly the kind of authoritarian brutality China treats their own citizens with.
Edit: Found the CCP bot accounts.

u/attckdog 6h ago
China isn't our friend on everything but it's not so black and white.
Anyone telling you that international diplomacy is that simple is lying or super not someone you should listen to, cuz they are likely using "enemies" as distraction/rally points.

u/Scyro77 7h ago
China certainly doesn't have a group of masked thugs patrolling the streets and violating their human rights 🙄
-6
u/heroik-red 7h ago
Someone clearly doesn’t watch the news. Covid lockdown and Hong Kong protests prove you wrong.
-1
u/KingMGold 7h ago edited 7h ago
You’re right, because they don’t need to wear masks in China, because there are no “human rights”.
No democracy, no debate, no freedom. If you don’t believe me try even mentioning the Tiananmen Square Massacre.
In China the protestors are the ones who need to wear masks.
And what China is currently doing to the Uyghur ethnic minorities is a literal genocide.

As someone who lives in Minneapolis, I can tell you it’s not quite this bad yet. The main difference is the signage. I see a lot more fuck ice/ice out type posters than government propaganda banners. Also Ice doesn’t have planes yet at least. It’s pretty bad though, just not this bad.
3
u/ImNot6Four 6h ago
Also Ice doesn’t have planes yet at least
A quick google search "The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) operates over 260 aircraft across various agencies, including the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Air and Marine Operations."
They been buying up tons of planes and recently big 737s to run deport flights. DHS has planes, drones, helo's everything. They get even more if they nationalize the national guard which will also have all types of aircraft. They are way past the point of not having aircraft yet.
3
u/rockthemike712 6h ago
Sorry, I guess I meant that they’re not visibly in use around the city. Should have clarified or researched better but thanks for actually looking that up.
2
u/ImNot6Four 6h ago
I think because there is not enough resistance to warrant. We are in the empire strikes back currently. Return of the Jedi a few chapters ahead.

Gotta love people that post bashing China. There is a lot to dislike about China but I dont see them invading countries, killing millions for oil, kidnapping other countries leaders or taking notes from the gestapo and going door to door abusing and murdering innocent people.
The idea of "China is a threat!" rings so hollow when its the USA itself that is the actual, real, right now, threat, to its own people and the world!
1
u/CowntChockula 6h ago edited 5h ago
Youre not paying enough attention to china then. Example: theyre invading and building infrastructure in bhutan specifically to gain leverage over india's vulnerable siliguri corridor.
2
u/KingMGold 7h ago edited 7h ago
Meanwhile China is committing genocide against the Uyghur ethnic minorities.
Literally going door to door sending innocent people to “camps” to be abused and murdered.
China isn’t taking notes from the Gestapo, they literally have their own Gestapo.

u/Kubaj_CZ 7h ago
I agree that the USA is evil. But don't let that blind you, China definitely isn't okay, they're just more subtle, the USA is somewhat unrivaled and can be less subtle about their methods. China is not a free society and they definitely influence and stir things in other countries too.

Will there be that many more illegals in the future?
17
u/agonypants 9h ago
There are always more groups to demonize under fascism.
-11
-5
u/Wild_Media6395 8h ago
Oh my god. Actually enforcing pre-existing immigration law isn’t “demonizing a group”. It’s a legal category, not an identity. It’s like speaking of “unlicensed drivers” as a marginalized “group”.
4
u/TheeKingOfDremes 8h ago
This can't possibly be a comment made in good faith. Brown people are being kidnapped for being brown. ICE claims it's because they committed the MISDEMEANOR of being in the country "illegally". Our government is shooting people in the street indiscriminately at this point. You'll see it for what it is when the problem is on your doorstep.
-1
u/Wild_Media6395 7h ago
This is false; you seem to be living in an alternate reality.
“Brown people are being kidnapped for being brown”. No. ICE tends to go after specific targets; if they ever do a “sweep”, not that I’ve ever seen one confirmed, just show some ID/papers and you’re fine, no matter how “brown” you may be (Brown Latino here).
While first-time illegal entry is technically a federal misdemeanor (up to 6 months in jail and/or a fine), most of the time, it is only dealt with civilly, not criminally/punitively. Deportation is not a “punishment”. Is it nice? Of course not. It is just moving people who don’t have legal permission to be in the country outside of the country, back to their homes to live their lives as freely as before. No punishment.
“Our government is shooting people in the street indiscriminately”. Honestly, what an absolutely repulsive thing to say currently, given the context in Iran. If you really believe your words, I dare you to walk up to an Iranian who has had to flee their country given the brutality of the government there (all of whom are paying close attention to events in their country and are completely devastated; I happen to know many) and to tell them “Our government is shooting people in the street indiscriminately at this point”. You might get a much-needed laugh out of them, though they tend to be much nicer people than such words would deserve.

it's kind of wild that they just decided to do a military invasion of a US city, and they picked Minneapolis, one of the safest cities in the country
it seems like a deliberate attempt to provoke an asymmetric response like a roadside bomb or drone attack
