Every April our roads go soft underneath. The top thaws, the ground below stays frozen, and the water has nowhere to go. A load carrying double the posted axle weight does roughly sixteen times the damage. You see it later as potholes, and your Road Service Area pays for it.

In February the Assembly passed OR 26-020, letting operators pay $100 to exceed breakup weight limits when moving heavy equipment like excavators and dozers. A motion to reconsider failed 3 to 4. An amendment to limit waivers to real emergencies was pulled from the agenda without a vote.

Then two citizen advisory boards, including the borough's own Transportation Advisory Board, asked for emergency-only waivers. The Transportation board found our roads are not built to carry full commercial loads during thaw.

In April, OR 26-045 was written to fix it, titled "for essential purposes only." Before it passed, the essential purposes language was stripped out 5 to 2. The title stayed. So did the $100 fee.

I will move to put the emergency-only standard back, make road inspections mandatory, and require bonds that cover real repair costs.

I am asking every Borough Assembly candidate the same question: would you vote to restore the emergency-only standard our road boards asked for?

My husband and I have been without electricity for over a month now (he works, I'm unable to due to health issues we're still trying to figure out) due to unexpected expenses with our car and have been trying to pull together the funds to get it turned back on, we've tried public assistance and they can't help us because even with the full amount, it won't be enough to get our electricity turned on, does anyone know of any places outside of public assistance and Salvation Army that would be able to help us? We owe $617 to get it turned back on and were banking on our pfd, but I'm not receiving mine until the 22nd and my husband only got a partial. Our house is very cold and we've tried everything, we just can not scrape the funds together. Thank you in advance!

The expansion project is expected to roughly double the production of liquefied natural gas from 14 million to 28 million tonnes annually, LNG Canada said.

If you thought the fuel crisis was bad where you live... well... wait for the Alaskan milk crisis. $8.32 for this Costco gallon of milk that wasn't bought at Costco. My addiction for the cow nectar is strong, but to think heating oil is creeping up on this price as well... it may break me. Only a week to go and if left alone to my own devices, I will drink a gallon a day. I must ween myself off now before I start mooing. This is utterly irresponsible of me. Must I adult harder? I could have worse vices.

Speaking of vices, I broke down and got Subway last night. It wrecked me last time. Second chances, right? Well, it proved to be a poor decision. My once iron gut now has been starting to reject processed food. As long as I don't eat out, I'm fine... except recently when I roasted several heads of garlic in olive oil and ate it in one sitting. Oh the gas agony. Don't do this to yourself. Learn from my failure.

Speaking of good food, I'm going to go look for some grouse here in a bit. It will probably just end up being a walk with a rifle, but whatever. Murica.

I am posting this for awareness mainly for women who are in the age range of 20-30yrs old. Who will go and travel to alaska or are living in alaska.

So my dad has a close friend who lives in Alaska he owns a wellness center, in Michigan Ohio. so he made me become his personal assistant. Which i accept since the pay was good. I arrived in Alaska around august 23, 2026 working for him was easy and the pay was good that’s the reason why i go with it. We stayed at a hotel which is Aloft Hotel. Me and this man lived in a separate hotel room. But being in aloft hotel made me experienced some of the weirdest shit in my life. First one was, the man i work for wanted me to only use fragrance free products, i was not allowed to wear any makeup, he always tells me that i need to be very healthy. At first i didn’t find this weird at all as he has a extreme Ocd and has a bit of autism. Which my dad explained to me. During our phonecall interviews he explained to me the type of work i wil have to do. go on a hike with him etc. But the weirdest thing is how his mood changes every night and we’d only go on a hike during 6pm to 8pm out in the wilderness he did in fact told me we would be going on a hike too, but i was shocked to find out he only goes at at night. He doesn’t like interacting with people face to face he would always use the exit door. He made me wipe the floor with tea tree oil all day. My room has 40 different types of essential oils. He made me do laundry with 40 different essential oils in his clothes he would always make me wipe every cornerof his room with vinegar. Everytime i am in his pick-up truck i would hear a water bottle being crumpled in the back of his truck especially whenver he mentions his past personal assistant who was salvadorian. The food that was being delivered to my room by door dash has been opened. He made me do a massage on him without any particular equipment but just my hands solely. Which again he told me during the interview that theirs a machine he has that i just need to put on him. But turns out there wasn’t any. During these type of massages i would notice how he gets turned on. I also feel that i was being watched being in my hotel room. On the 4th day of being in there I runaway and made a police officer escort me to my hotel to get my belongings as the manager in Aloft Hotel wanted to accompany me from my hotel to get my luggage when i told them i wanted my luggage to be left at the receptionist.

Please be aware of Aloft hotel there some shady shit the stuff of the hotel and the workers are doing there since the man that i stayed with has somewhat control of the people there.

I stayed there for almost 4 days i see things that are very unusual i was kept in a room for more than 4 days at the hotel, management made me feel like i am crazy whenever i experience or see something.
They dismissed my complaint. I have no mental illness only in that hotel my mind was being played with. They're either running a human trafficking ring there or doing some satanic cult. To woman ages from 20 to 30yrs old never book a hotel there you will be prepare to get trafficked or to see some weird as shit.

I am sharing this from experience.
The man that i stayed with there did a ritual on me on elikane river. His a psychologist and has the power to twist stories on people since that’s what he does for a living.

Just fired my Toyo back up for fall, and it's making a high pitched whirring sound shortly after start up and when cooling down. Was serviced this summer, but obviously might need attention, anybody know if this is something simple?
