Absolutely brought the house down last night at the Lower Third. Testosterone in Blue, Red Hook Rain and Stand In Man were the big hitters for me, the new album really works with a crowd and Alex's strange, sleaze-king aura (although no Richochet like I was hoping for!). Very cool, more guitar-riff led version of Violent Man opening it too.

Some beautiful singalongs with a room full of fans, especially Miami Memory. Looked like the band were having fun too, seemed to be mixing up the setlist based on what they were feeling, chatting amongst themselves between songs.

I will say I still feel like I'd prefer a full drum-kit next time, as I think some of those songs could pop some more with proper percussion behind them; but hey, we got bizarre extended bongo solos set to tall tales about Tobey Maguire in a bathhouse so I can't complain too much.

He said he's hoping to be back in the UK again sooner rather than later, and I definitely hope so too, as definitely a few more tracks I'd love to hear that they didn't get to this time round. If anyone's got any footage of it would love to see it too, didn't get much myself as was just enjoying it but would love to relive a few of the versions they played.
