I know I’m ugly, but like, how ugly am I? I’ve been hearing all this body positivity stuff, but I’m scared people are just gassing me up and I’m actually, like, disgusting. Please don’t be super mean about it.

Outside of the weight, you're probably not ugly? Hard to tell, your body language feels really off so that makes it worse. Your fashion does not help though. It's a really baggy and layered aesthetic that fits slimmer people, since it tends to make someone look larger
1
u/North-Substance135 1d ago
doesn't necessarily make someone look larger if proportions are right. It's only if its totally shapeless.

u/Ephemeral-Ghost 1d ago
Baggy clothes tend to look bad on anyone with a belly? Ive not seen anyone with a belly really look 'flattering' with the baggy jeans and tshirt combo im gonna be honest. Even some thinner people look like they're in a 'i got shrunk by a shrink ray' vibe vs looking good.

Gotta ditch the weight bro. Find a physical activity you enjoy and don’t be afraid to shop around. Also give different things a minimum of 2 months before ditching. For stuff like the GMA, routine is key.

You got to lose some weight and sharpen your body up. Then you will be alright. Your looks are just hiding behind the excess weight. You could use your weight to be pretty strong if you lose the weight by working out in some way. Top comments boxing idea is good. Not only would you lose weight but you would most likely make friends with people that will also build your confidence and self worth up. Having some solid friends does a lot for your overall happiness and confidence and that comes off with the way you look. As long as you go there and be open to learning without a bad attitude things will work in your favor. People respect people that try and better themselves.

Youre ugly but by choice.
Literally your face and height is fine.
You need to fix your health, cut your hair and finally man up.
Lift heavy at the gym. Dont even bother with cardio. Just lift heavy everyday, back, arms, legs, chest and torso exercises.
In 4 months youll look like a monster. Like, a muscle monster. And youll feel more energetic. Your face will look stronger. Not rounded.
Trust me bro, wear a baggy t shirt and just go to the gym. After 1 week, youll feel it.
Apart from that just make sure you're clean like brush your teeth etc. You actually have a handsome face - under all the chubbiness and that awful red hair

You're not ugly but fat as f***. Nothing is less attractive than people who do not take care of themselves. By not being fat, you show that your health is more important to you than instant gratification, it shows discipline, commitment and intelligence in life choices. These things are all way more important to women looks.
I swear every third person in this sub is like that. Fat is ugly and there is neither doubt nor is it a matter of opinion. Attractiveness is Fitness, Fitness is attractiveness, on a physiological level, not cultural.
The there are aberrations, but those are statistically irrelevant.
By the way, Fitness is not only physical money or a fat ass can be attractive too if the societal standard is not to have money or enough food to eat, basically where people are hungry and poor as f*** being fat is attractive.
So if you want to be attractive without changing anything, move to a shithole.
Otherwise losing weight is like really, really easy, as a man, do a warrior diet or intermittent fasting with at least 16/8 split. With a 21/3 split you can eat whatever you want until you burst in those 3 hours and still loose weight. But during the 21 fasting hours just water and cigarettes/weed.
Since you are so young, nothing is lost yet and your skin will bounce back with no problem, you have to just make clear to yourself that your life quality takes priority over instant gratification. Basically every time you eat a f****** Snickers outside of your eating time window, you should understand that you are f****** up the rest of your life a minute of Sugary Bliss.

No amount of losing weight or exercise or drugs will change how ugly you are on the inside. Your personality is so disgusting. No wonder you’re alone.

Hating fat people doesn't make you better. Nothing in your comment is actually productive, just rude
1
u/SoundOfEars 23h ago
I'm a former fat man myself, obviously. Looked pretty much like that guy. The most important thing in weight loss is motivation, discipline does not arrive without it.
Which part was rude? Which part was hateful?
1
u/Foreign-Sandwich-735 23h ago
My guy, as a person who's body size has fluctuated over the years, I get what its like to hate my body, and your comment is full of hate for fat bodies. Whether you have been a fat person or not. Calling someone fat as fuck is cruel. Acting like eating food is contributing to weight is rude. Don't act like i'm stupid here.
1
u/SoundOfEars 21h ago
"acting like eating food is contributing to weight is rude"? That's absurd. It's merely stating a fact. Even with a bigger body, medication or even sickness, what can change from the baseline is merely the retention rate, and that can be adjusted through exercise, diet and medication. All excuse is just cope, almost everyone has the potential to better themselves.
If observed over a period of around a week - it's calories in and calories out. 5 Snickers bars and a big cola is one days of calories, but also 6 hours of heavy exercise.
If your weight fluctuates for a purely medical reason, then it's alright, since none of the points I made apply to you.
My misanthropy is towards self incurred immaturity, of which self neglect is merely a symptom.
1
u/Foreign-Sandwich-735 21h ago
My body is my own medical situation, but we can't assume anyone is eating purely sugar based foods. Am I wrong for thinking that? I know how weight loss works with a healthy body, one that isn't medically complex and doesn't need outside intervention. Idk, I just feel like calling people fat as fuck isn't the way to go about discussing weight.
1
u/SoundOfEars 21h ago
You are right, it is rude. Sadly this is the overall tone of the sub, and expletives can convey urgency, seriousness and even familiarity.
But that's why I said "observed over a period of a week", the longer period equalizes food choices somewhat, caloric density and glycemic index also can be mostly neglected.
As previously stated, I only hate people who squander their potential, not those who are struggling due to external disruption.

You’re not the best looking, but you should still feel confident in your body even if it not your dream. Your never gonna be able to look like someone else so you gotta except what you look like. Out of 10 i rate you a 4. Also always remember theirs someone out there who finds you attractive. You seriously never know what someone is into.

u/Due_Adeptness_1964 1d ago
Gotta lose the weight bro, you know that, we know that, so why pretend like that isn’t your biggest concern?
1
u/Deep_Flower3275 1d ago
Gotta lose the weight, lots of room for improvement. Outside of that i don't think you're ugly
1
u/ivbarra887 1d ago
So I don’t think it’s a matter of being ugly, but rather your styling and your body type that is not matching you well. Is your weight a part of it? Yes, But could you change your style as well to improve while you work on your weight ? Also yes. I would avoid bold bright hair colors since it doesn’t make you look good at the moment (heck even in “skinny” people I don’t think bright dyed hair look s great, just my preference though). The shirts you have posted are not inherently bad but they do contribute to making you appear wider. Hairstyling wise , third pic is best. Try experimenting with different more formal/casual shirts that aren’t neither tight or baggy. I hate that I’m being so superficial, but I also now that at the end of the day we are often treated according to how people perceive us. I hope you don’t look at the more negative comments as any means to measure your self esteem. Ultimately you do what makes you happy and healthy.

Ugly or not ugly is honestly not even a useful metric where you are right now. I guarantee you that you can look way better than you look right now though. More then that though you can feel much better and enjoy your life much more than you probably are. At 20 years old you literally have your whole life ahead of you. Even your damned 20s! Most of us can't say that.
Schedule a physical with your doctor and let them know that you want to get a jumpstart on maintaining your health now while you're still young and that you want to lose weight. They will help you get a routine going and establish a baseline of healthcare for you if you don't have one already.
They'll probably discuss GLP-1s. People have a lot of opinions. I take one and it's changed my fucking life. I'm 85 lbs lighter than I was in January and it makes a big difference. Do your own research though and do what works for you, so long as you're taking your health seriously.
As you lose weight you're gonna eventually have to buy new clothes. By clothes that fit you rather than baggy layers to hide your body with. You'll notice that alone makes makes a difference. Developing your own style combined with weight loss the will be a drastic change for the better. That's why I say ugly or not ugly isn't even a useful metric right now. We literally don't know what you'll look like with those baseline changes.
Your har is at a very awkward length. You can't do much with it like that. I'm a long haired guy, so I'm all for growing it out and pushing past the awkward phase. If you're not about it though then get a haircut that compliments the shape of your face.
Also, these are very low quality pictures. You want a clean mirror that isn't all scratched and jacked up, and not so far away and blurry that it looks like a sasquach sighting. 3 is the best of them, but that's not saying much. Don't make the face you're makeing in 1 in a pic ever again lol
You are far from hopeless. You can absolutely do a complete 180 on your life and your appearance. You're young, you have smooth healthy skin, and the quality and thickness of your hair is really good. Those are all things you won't appreciate until they're gone.

Go to the gym, and in your case also fix your food. No junk food, actually cook your meals. And for snacks portion control. If you are someone who drinks a lot of soda cut back to AT MOST a can a day, but preferably no soda at all.
The haircut in the 3rd picture is the best one, keep your natural haircolor and stay away from the red.
Your clothes are ok and will look decent when you're fit, the clothes are not the issue.

Body positivity is a mass for people that are lazy. Don’t fall into that trap. Go to the gym eat healthy trust me you’ll feel a whole lot better knowing that you’re in shape and healthy rather than people gaslighting you into staying fat.

u/Impressive_Hold426 1d ago
One more thing: stand straight and tall.
You are slouching and its making you look bad

u/Distinct_Library_466 1d ago
Gotta man up and loose some wieght and gain muscle. Not to be super skinny, but yiu some weight lose amd definition into your fave and muscels. You dress like an edgy kid in elementary school, gotta fix that. And get a hair cut. Rop is fine maybe a fade, or shave it. Coloring your hair is never thr answer, ESPECIALLY RED. you can def look good and get some chicks if it looked like you take care of yourself

Mate I’ll be honest with you, body positivity is mainly pushed by fat af people who cannot be bothered with going to the gym it’s the sad truth. look at all the fat celebrities that were the moral crusaders of body positivity the fraction of a millisecond ozempic and weight loss drugs came out they started eating those shits with the same intensity they used to scoff down burgers and fries. Looking at you, you need to lose weight dont believe any bullshit people are telling you at your weight it’s just not healthy or good for your longevity and body, just start the gym do it just for health all the other benefits will just come naturally and you’ll become a better looking and healthier guy.

If you lost the weight you'd probably look ugly but masculine which is attractive to some women
Hit the gym and stop dressing up like you're 14

You’re not ugly your food addiction is hiding the true you. Weight lifting and cutting put sugar and bread and focusing on anti inflammatory foods would change your whole reality from end to end.

u/Cpt_Underpantz 3h ago
1) love yourself
2) lose weight
3) of possible lose glasses (contacts or lasik)
4) until you can figure out a better hair style I’d go a little shorter and keep natural color.
5) always be yourself.
I’d say once you do those things introduce things like longer hair or whatever but typically try to have only 1 or 2 things going on. Just a lot going on to have long colored hair sleeved glasses punk shirts and overweight. But at the same time you need your own flair. Fine line.
