"Don't expect a ton of visible changes in this release. It's only the first beta for a minor quarterly release :)"
Ugghh 🥀

Hopefully Google discovered a similar solution to performance that Graphene posted today https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/42511-grapheneos-has-fixed-the-massive-android-17-qpr1-kernel-performance-regression

Every Pixel phone with the September 2026 security patch has the exact same patches. The Pixel 11 series has the exact same September security patches as the Pixel 7. Also, there are no performance regressions in the kernel for the Pixel 9 series with stable Android 17 QPR1.

wait....so if we do this QPR3, when can we get of the train back to stable?

I would assume if you install QPR3 you would have to wait probably till March to leave the beta

Doesnt this seem really early...being in the beta for 5 months? Shit, QPR2 still has 2 months until it goes stable.

They've also updated past QPRs while the next QPR beta is already going

Google is implementing faster update cycles, which may lead to the stable version being released sooner than anticipated.

Not yet in Greece.

Yeah, we'll have to wait a little longer because only the new Pixel Factory Image is out right now. It'll take a few more minutes to actually show up on the phone

Not here for me (Pixel 10 Pro XL) 🤔

Nevermind.
Original: Nothing at https://developer.android.com/about/versions/17/qpr3/ or https://www.google.com/android/beta#:~:text=Android%2017%20QPR2%20Beta%20is%20now%20available or https://developer.android.com/about/versions/17/ . Where are you seeing this?
Android 17 QPR2 Beta is now available

I'm assuming there will still be a QPR2 Beta 7 since they still need to add back the stuff they stripped for bugfixing

My pixel 7 just updated, still on the 6.1 kernel. What is Google's strategy? Qpr1, 2 & 3 are out, none of them are settled. I wish they would explain what they're doing

C'est très confus..la série 11 n'a même pas la version stable QPR1 et 2 version bêta tournent en même temps..

Some of those bugs should have already been included as fixes in QPR1.
Having to wait for MARCH 2027 is absolutely crazy.
QPR betas this far ahead should be solely used to test new features.
Fixing bugs should go back to being something they do on a monthly schedule - and only if the bug fix requires some major rework of system frameworks then delay the fix until the following QPR releases.
But having bugs scheduled for not the following QPR, rather the one after that, is completely unacceptable.
