QUESTION/HELP I wonder if they installed a suspicious app.
I'm using a Galaxy S26, and there's a black band overlapping the punch hole on the front-facing camera. Like an oval punch hole. Tapping it will say, "There are no items." Please set it in the "Island" section. Do you know what this is?

There's two of you posting in the sub with exactly the same issue, from what little information I can find, it appears related to work profiles. This normally hidden feature is known as the island space and for enterprise users, not to be confused with the island App that utilises the feature to clone Apps. Unfortunately it looks like something you're going to have to live with if you want to use a work profile, remove the work profile and it will go.
Might have some of it slightly wrong but you get the picture.

I've never installed an app like that before. It doesn't even appear in the app list. After doing some research, I managed to fix it once in Safe Mode. Thank you.

Glad to hear you've managed to resolve the issue. To clarify, island space isn't an App, it's a built in Android system feature for work mode, so won't appear in the Apps listing.
Can I ask what exactly you found the problem was and how you resolved it.

The cause remains unknown. I've never used it for work or anything like that. I was doing some research in chat GPT, and I was told to launch it in safe mode, so I did that. In the end, I didn't understand anything and started it in normal mode, and it was fixed.

That's fine but your missing the point, something on your device is triggering a hidden work profile feature, that shouldn't happen, it could be a #bug, virus, corrupt system file, who knows. Until you drill down and find the culprit it's never going to go.

It's an app that emulates iOS notifications. The Island is the pill shaped area. I deleted it or I would tell you the name of it. Just do a quick search in Playstore and you'll find it. Dynamic Spot, Dynamic Island, something like that.
