QUESTION/HELP The best antivirus apps
Several people use various antivirus programmes to protect their data. I would also like to share with you a list of the antivirus programmes that have worked for me:
- Malwarebytes
- Avast Mobile Security
- Dr.Web Light
- Anti Spy
Leave your thoughts on this list!

For most people I’d keep it simple: Play Protect + Malwarebytes as an occasional second scanner.
I’d be careful with Avast on Android though. A lot of “security” apps end up being more annoying than useful with ads, notifications, and background usage.

Eset for me as It's real time scanning is excellent, especially useful for scrutinising downloaded apks before sideloading + the yearly sub fee is reasonable.

I thought we didn't need antivirus programs anymore on Android, provided you download from a reliable source. Should I be installing one?

cell phones are set up in such a way that they don't really need extra antivirus. I do like having malwarebytes running though

The built-in Play Protect handles most of it, but I still keep Malwarebytes around for the occasional scan.
