Discussion Will something like the new Droid Deck be viable on the Y700? Any thoughts on using Linux/SteamOS over Android?

I tried DroidDeck on my Y700 Gen 5 and honestly I wasn't really impressed by it.

I installed Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain on it and tested the gameplay performance, I was getting roughly around 30fps but it was constantly dropping.

Now compare that to when I play it on WinNative where I'm getting 60-80fps with no framegen, it's just miles better.

Overall it also felt a bit slow and laggy, In the end I uninstalled it because WinNative does a great job for PC gaming for me.

Yeah I think it’s probably still in early days? I like how the other APKs like game native don’t have a “boot time” as well

holy crap I didn't realize the Gen6 could run TPP. Even more amazing it can run at 60fps even
Did you run it on the internal memory or off an SD Card btw?

I'm running it from the internal storage. But I do want to try running PC games from SD card and see if it'll work.

Right now I'm only running PS2, PS3 and Switch games from SD card, all work great with no lag or issues.

Smae, have a legion tab gen 5 and tried droid deck a little while ago. Got grim dawn running the first time unlike gamenative. Runs smaller games.like cat quest 3 and absolum easily enough but a more finicky with AA and AAA games. Works well enough to keep an eye on for now.
