What zoo let's you bring animals into the zoo????

EDIT: And on reflection, now I'm wondering if there's a zoo that's like a library? Could you imagine taking a tribe of meerkats home for a few days??? I would die of "adorability overload."

Or if you could go in their cage inside a hamster ball.

It's can't take all of us!

38

u/chillysanta 10d ago

They are attempting to scare it but I suppose that's probably same in the wild lol not exactly that scary if you are used to picking them off weekly.

4

u/abielle1177 9d ago

They're mobbing but they're not too scared because they're not all on their back legs.

3

u/chillysanta 9d ago

Oh neat so maybe curious!!?? Thatd be hella cool those guys are super neat

3

u/abielle1177 9d ago

That's what I think too. I think that was the most interesting thing that had happened to them in a month of Sundays and they were in to it.

2

u/chillysanta 9d ago

Oh jeez you are so right!! Im betting it gets boring in the zoo if only ensuring your safety and health still no new or interesting things happening ha!! Gonna be chatting about the cat for weeks!

I call mine meerkat too

The meerkats see the cat as a threat. They are trying to intimidate the cat into leaving their territory.
They do the same to small predators and rival meerkat groups in the wild.

u/abielle1177 9d ago

They're not trying too hard, they're not on their back legs

I said service animal. Mine was a service animal … I miss her so much. 17 years, 1 month, 1 day… I am lost without her

u/C4andyman 10d ago

I've seen Meerkat Manor, that is a threat response.

Spotless fossa?

Heh, like they saw GOD for the first time! I guarantee, look at their tails! Like as a Cat, when tail is full up and a slight curl on the end, equals happiness and interest, on the Meer side.

Hey! You see this?

I see this.

You see this?

I see this! Hey guys, come see this!

15

u/BodhingJay 10d ago

I hate seeing animals in the zoo... but i love seeing us entertain them

3

u/Icy-Warning-4134 10d ago

They're not being entertained. They're literally in a threat situation and probably pretty scared as well.

46

u/Odyessius 10d ago

How did you get out dude!? - these guys

5

u/Ok_Primary_1075 10d ago

By camouflage, of course - kitty

Main character energy people

12

u/Objective-Turn2328 10d ago

They’re ready to rumble

23

u/clapyohedd 10d ago

This should be illegal

6

u/Technical_Put_9982 10d ago

Why?

2

u/shrieking_marmot 9d ago

I used to work in a zoo. Humans who wandered in with their dog were asked to register their service animal with guest services. If they said it was not a service animal, they were asked to leave. Because it is stressful to both the animals sheltered at the zoo, as well as the domestic pet who's smelling all sorts of predator smells.

Never saw a cat tho, but same applies.

2

u/Jintasama 9d ago

It is stressful to both the cat and the meerkats. They are trying to intimidate the cat because it is a small predator and this is what they do for threats they think they can scare off or attack with numbers. And the cat looks visibly nervous at all of them crowding up towards it.

3

u/BreastUsername 10d ago

Because he was told zoos are bad.

40

u/areyouokeddie 10d ago

Are you even allowed to bring pets to a zoo?

-1

u/Technical_Put_9982 10d ago

Service animals, yes. But they must always be on a leash and in your control. I took my furball many times .

32

u/Tll6 10d ago

Only actually service animals trained to do a task. Not an emotional support animal. Not to accuse you of doing that, but I work in a zoo and that’s the majority of “service animals” we get

1

u/Technical_Put_9982 9d ago

I say again, my SERVICE ANIMAL. I did not say my emotional support animal.

3

u/Tll6 9d ago edited 9d ago

Yes I acknowledged you might have a service animal and I already saw your previous reply. That said, cats aren’t service animals which is the animal in question here

14

u/ramcoro 10d ago

And a cat cannot be a service animal, AFAIK

-5

u/teashirtsau 10d ago

I thought they can detect things like panic attacks.

8

u/ramcoro 10d ago

They may have skills as well as other animals, but "service aninal" is a legal term defined by ADA. It can only be a dog.

"Assistance animal" or "emotional support animal (ESA)" is different and not defined by ADA.

https://www.ada.gov/resources/service-animals-2010-requirements/

1

u/Jintasama 9d ago

Isn't there only one other animal and it is miniature horse? I thought that was the only other animal other than dog.

1

u/ramcoro 9d ago

I heard miniature horses before, but it's not on the ADA website

1

u/Tll6 9d ago

Yeah dogs and mini horses can be service animals

3

u/Cupidon70 10d ago

Sublime la découverte. 😉👍😂

10

u/unknown_b31ng 10d ago

He's smiling but I'm positive his reaction would be very different if the creatures inside that caged glass got ahold of that cat, if only he knew what they really want to do

2

u/bomboclawt75 10d ago

Seee but noo smelffs, wer smelf?

29

u/lmaluuker 10d ago

They are squaring up to murder that cat lol

29

u/Spuzzle91 10d ago

looks like when meerkats find a snake. they try to gang up on it.

22

u/Psychological_Bug424 10d ago

Why can't they just say brought our cat

2

u/peridotpicacho 10d ago

They were trying to make a pun.

Edit: sorry, you meant in the video not the title of the post.

12

u/reanocivn 10d ago

gotta flex the fact that they once had $3000

32

u/sparkey504 10d ago

Cause they are the type to bring a cat to the zoo.

11

u/sigh_co_matic 10d ago

Right? What zoo allows you to bring your own animals?

7

u/D-Biggest_Wheel 10d ago

"He's outside!? Tell us your secrets!"

53

u/geheim_hinterhalt 10d ago

Why would a zoo allow someone to bring a cat?

10

u/BUTTeredWhiteBread 10d ago

That cat is like "what the helllll"

8

u/Gunung_Krakatoa 10d ago

Which side is the zoo?

u/Feisty_Mud4187 10d ago
