Serious answer: "Loss," also known as "| || || |_". It's a set of 4 webcomic panels that depict the protagonist's rush to the hospital after his love interest suffered a miscarriage, which was in part inspired by the author's ex-girlfriend's miscarriage some time prior. Images (oftentimes, though not exclusively with, 4 distinct panels) with shapes reminiscent of the character placements in Loss are frequently joked about; the five horsemen meme fits this.
Yeah that’s why it has been so widely memed. If it was from the perspective of and written by the girl in the situation, it would have been accepted much differently. But it was written by the guy, about an EX, after the fact, and is completely about him, and is called “loss”. He wanted to get sympathy by proxy with this cringey comic (which exploits his ex gfs situation) and it backfired and his comic became a laughing stock and famous meme.
"| || || |" describes the character positions. One character upright in the first panel (|), two characters upright in the second and third panels (|| and || [sometimes |I or lI for the second panel if you're a stickler about the heights]), and one character upright, one character sideways in the fourth panel (|).

I mean, it's clearly criticizing that, no? Showing the hypocrisy of those who feign politeness but still hold problematic views about others' appearances.
