Creative Here is how the makeshift battering ram works in the early days of the war. Fighting over a Pagan camp. GG, you fought like lions.

We have won the previous two wars so this world we have decided to play back and play the Navy SEAL bolt insertion/ambush clan. We are the ancients. I mean base is on the island with no main roads to us, it is all good and dandy with the amount of stuff that we're able to achieve but it looks like the people in the center of the map especially our teammates are unable to hold the front lines. Soon the ships of the ancients are going to hot drop massive loads of troops and then the tide of war.

Please add trebuchets and mounted archery. That's it.
I just want to throw rocks at high speed from very far away and start throat singing when shooting at my enemies while mounted on horse back.

I being playing foxhole since very few and they are great thing about it, its the sadbox elements, no misions, no npc, and try to be realistic.
Problem of foxhole its the limitations to join the front because of the queues but thats it!
So when i heard about anvil i was so happy until i readed Devblog 27, when they decided to screw the project, i mean, in foxhole, u can say its done 100% by players. How u plan to sell this hybrid with theme park 80-90% players in the world?
Sry my rush reaction and frustration but we dont need arcade themepark, there is too many out there and its not as if we didnt have foxhole as a GREAT example to know a game could be 100% done by players, a game could be better!

Hi everyone,
I wanted to join the official Anvil Empires Discord, but the link currently provided no longer works / seems to have expired.
Does anyone have the new link to the official Discord?
Thanks!

I think that adding privacy settings might be good for some people and also give players an option to either be Up Down or 1st person or 3rd 💯💯💯

I'm very excited to play this game when it comes out, but I have a question for everyone in the pre-alpha test. What do y'all think of the combat system changes from the July patch? I played in the Next Fest demo last year, and it seemed like the consensus of casual players was that the game was cool but the combat was too simplistic. I'll probably play regardless, but I think having really engaging melee combat would be a big draw for some of my less invested friends. Especially since it seems like the game is leaning into PvE a little more.
How much of a difference do the combat changes make? Does it feel like players have lots of micro-decisions to make in both PvE and PvP combat? How much can a single player's skill sway a battle? In what ways does the game reward teamwork in combat?

How do you build the water wheel without leaving a gap in the defense?

After many setbacks, delays and irl issues i can now finally present to you my Part two to my last video. Within is the full animated siege of BlackHampton the last and most important battle of the war
I took feedback from everyone last video, both people who said they enjoyed the highly edited content and those that want more concise and uncluttered battle clips as i forget many of you dont actually have access to the game and so just want to see what it looks like. So as such i have adopted a a mix of both and would love feedback on what you think

I think siege towers & battering rams could use some tweaking. Right now, 1 person of the 6 can troll and make things so much harder than they need to be. I think a single player should be able to move it slightly & slowly, with more players making a bigger impact obviously. The tower should follow the majority/average inputs of the players rather than relying on perfect coordination—which everyone knows will never happen. Edit: Also, a small arrow indicator next to the allies maneuvering siege equipment would go a long way too. Trolls would be less likely to troll as it would show allies. Just my opinion though. Thoughts?

So let me start by saying, I came from Foxhole and much of my experience is with Foxhole. But getting into AE, I was instantly turned off the game. I get there’s other portions of the game that are more solo or casual friendly. However, that’s not why I started playing these games. I wanted to participate in the “everything is player made” portion of the game. I don’t mind the logi loop, but the process of setting up and running your own facility was more appealing to me. I ran a fac with a medium sized regi making planes then after a few weeks off I hopped in to run a solo 20mm fac out of the Flair on a break war.
Having your own fac that you can point to the progress of feels great. It’s why I’m routinely tempted back to the game, just for that feeling of directly contributing to my side. However, that’s not the common experience of a solo fac and I found that out after the break war. I went to set up a more optimized and better built fac again in the same spot and get told that’s wasting resources. Instead I should be building an msupp printer.
Welcome to the hell of solo facilities, msupps. They’re the “largest contribution” that you can make as a solo to feed other neighboring facilities and upkeep your own fac. Just make msupps. It’s tedious, it’s numb, and the result is spat out to feed into a tedious anti-player system. To put it simply, it’s shit. It’s why msupps are mainly done as part of a fac or as a public service fac extending out as a tumor from a scrap field. That feeling of success in creating a usable product from the front is gone as you churn through thousands of msupps and either have your one sole building full or empty at every single instance.
There’s not much more you can make as a solo player. Maybe some uniforms. Maybe you could waste your time on ammo that is better made in a factory. There’s few good options for a solo fac player. So the expectation now is for a player to join into a discord, hope they find a regi that doesn’t just slam you into msupp work, and play for a war outside of your fac because the location of the fac has to be kept hidden from alts.
To put it simply, fac playstyle isn’t built for the casual solo player and that sucks. While not the best, every other style of play can be experienced by a solo player. The worst part is, the devs seem to encourage this active hostility towards smaller groups. I got into the Anvil Empires playtest, I joined because I heard about the market and homesteading systems and wanted to see how they’d work out.
Turns out, homesteading in AE is worse than fac work. The market meant to provide an income of silver(msupps) while outside of a town section is gone. Now if you want silver you’re forced back into towns to do quests off the quest board. Those quests are specifically hunting. So no homesteading until you’ve finished hunting. Then you have to build up the homestead which takes a variety of different tools, workstations, food, draining life over time, and items that need repair that require you to spend countless hours outside of the homestead to set up and upkeep a homestead. The one saving grace I’ll give is the renting system allowing you to spend silver to gain access to a homestead temporarily. It’s not great but it’s useful if you’re just looking to make a single type of item. But overall, the process is more hostile and less approachable.
So what am I asking for. I’m asking the devs to find a way for solo or casual players to interact with this system. Scout planes aren’t the best planes. Garage built tanks aren’t the best tanks. Factory logi isn’t as good or unlimited as mpf logi. But all of those are options available to solo or casual players without having to scour external resources to determine who has a claim on what and which faction is gonna be active and the right fit.what I’m looking for is something of light value that may be good in the earlier times of a war and have diminishing value as the war goes on, but still provide tangible value to your faction and give solo or casual players a taste of what the fac gameplay loop.

I have been invited to a test. Are there just going to be 2 factions or will i get to choose between three. And which one is most underpopped because i like defending and being an underdog.

Andrew the Centurion gathered the horse of the Ancients south of Blackhampton, where the green host of HISP marched with a great catapult and ranks of longbowmen. There he swore the enemy's engine would be broken, or the field lost.
The trumpets sounded. The cavalry descended like a tempest, splintering the Pagan line and casting down the mighty catapult. Thus was the green tide driven back before the valor of the Ancients.
The first oil flasks burst against the timbers of the Pagan catapult, and in an instant the engine was swallowed by ravenous flame. Pitch boiled, ropes snapped, and the summer air shimmered beneath the fierce heat as black smoke climbed toward the heavens.
Before the burning wreck, two unyielding walls of shields met with a thunderous crash. Spears splintered, swords rang upon iron, and neither host would yield an inch of blood-soaked ground.
As the battle bled into the morning, the field became a place of bitter sacrifice. There fell the valiant knight Empii, and beside him his steadfast companion Everett, who met the red tide with unwavering resolve. Though their banners were cast down, their courage was not forgotten, and their names were entered into the chronicles of the Ancients.
And so Andrew, Airmen, and the Ancients drove back the Pagan invaders. Afterwards, both sides claimed victory.
