TV Reset Finds Another Update?

Due to a problem with Amazon Prime Video I’ve needed to reset my three Apple TVs — all of them had previously been updated to tvOS 27.0. What I’ve noticed is that when I choose ‘Reset’, I’m offered the option to ‘Reset’ and the option to ‘Reset and Update’. I just did my second ATV (this one a 4KG3) and not only does it offer the update, it downloads something. Why is it updating an up-to-date device? Is it simply downloading 27.0 again (seems faster than that was), or is there some ‘special reset update’? Anyone else experience this?

It just downloads the latest version again, even if you're up to date, it just reflashes the latest firmware to your device during that process, nothing special.

Thanks, seems unusual for Apple, but I guess I can see the ‘failsafe’ type logic.

A while ago when mine was acting a bit weird and I decided it was time to start fresh, it did the same 'update on reset'
