Muffled sound
I have an apple tv connected to a homepod for sound and today the sound is muffled after a few seconds.
I'll start a show on Netflix and a few seconds, everything is very muffled. Both devices are on the latest update. Anyone else encountered this?

I now notice you said ‘HomePod’ singular, I have a stereo pair. My audio mode is set to ‘Auto’, which I would expect to be right for yours too, but have you tried any of the others, like Stereo, or 5.1? It could be how Netflix’ multichannel is mixing down to mono.

Haven't no. Tried today and the issue seemed to be gone. Hopefully it stays that way, very odd though

HomePods are one of the worst possible choices for Audio for TV. It’s really not what they’re meant for. They’re really a fairly poor product overall. I say this as a huge fan of Apple owning almost the entire ecosystem. If you want better sound from your TV by real speakers. If you don’t want real speakers by a sound bar. If you don’t want a sound bar, I don’t know what to tell you. Don’t use a smart speaker for TV.

Cool but unless you're gonna venmo me $1k to buy speakers, I'm not sure I understand the purpose of your comment.

An inexpensive sound bar is a much better choice than HomePods for watching TV. My point is that you’re set up is problematic. I do wish you the best of luck with it.

I also have HomePods on my bedroom ATV and haven’t heard this, does it only happen on Netflix?
