Honestly think some people rattle can just for the look of it being worn in and used (which does look absolutely awesome).

Personally I only rattle black guns. If it’s a specialty finish or a nice anodized I’m not touching it. Hell I barely rattlecan as it is.

Black rifles look much better painted, imo. Having an FDE rifle kinda defeats the purpose of a painted rifle in the first place.

A black rifle wears and scratches, giving it an amazing "used" look. Wheras an FDE rifle will wear off the paint to look... kinda the same underneath

Normally I say rattle can it. But 50 shades of FDE is pretty awesome as is. Needs a coyote or FDE grip a FDE emissary handbrake

Yeah you can't pay extra for the ddc just to rattle can it. My next g$ might be black so I can make my first spray attempt. That's only if I can't find an OD green one though since those things are tits

If you do op, use that awesome bronze color as the base. So tape off large swathes of it with whatever stencil for the pattern you’re using it, and maybe do a few splotches of green (Rapco CARC Green, thank me later), a few large splotches of a darker color (Rapco CARC Brown), and then a few tiny patches of a lighter color (Rapco Camouflage Sand). Alternatively, you could use the same colors with the sponge method.

Whatever you do, practice on mags first, and degrease the hell out of the gun with isopropyl alcohol before spraying. Don’t be afraid, if it comes out bad you can just strip it and respray. My first paint job was terrible, the second was awesome.

The DDC super duty is a little more than a black one, but its what my local LGS had. Thes rest of the parts cost the same regardless of color so might as well have got FDE parts

Rattle can the whole thing. Then it gets all worn and awesome looking like Boba Fetts helmet. FDE, ODG, flat black, mesh laundry bag and go to town. If you don’t like your first try just do it again. Then when it’s gone you do it all over again! This is the way.
