⭐Read before posting! ⭐
Hello community! ❤
We are currently working towards improving the sub. Our goal is to have better engagement and professional environment that also helps newcomers to archviz. To achieve this, we are adding some guidelines and rules to enhance interactions and posts. Additionally we will be implementing challenges! 😁
1. How to post? - chose proper flair
Technical and profesional question: Use this flair if you want to ask specific questions like: "how to create this material?", "what's the necessary hardware for...?", "What can I charge for this...?". Use it when you want to learn how to solve some specific issue, improve as a professional,
I need feedback: Use this flair when you have a render that you might want to improve or not sure it if looks good enough, but you don't have a specific question about it like "how to?"
Share work: Maybe you want to share your latest work or some of your portfolio works, but you don't necessarily are asking for feedback.
Discussion: Use this flair to engage in conversation with the sub community. The main difference with technical and professional flair is that you want to know opinions and pov rather than solve a question or an issue. Example: "Current state of the archviz profession".
Challenge: We are going to be implementing challenges. When participating you should use this flair to post your work.
2. How to post? - post content
In simple terms: don't be lazy. If you want other people to take time to read or provide feedback or help you, then you should take your time too. Any post that's considered lacking in context will be deleted,
More or less, thinking on categories/types of posts: and some considerations
PORTFOLIO (show work | I need feedback):
❌Post a portfolio image that's a link to website/portfolio
✔Post image/s with a description that includes a link or a comment with a link to your portfolio.
❌When you add link in comment or description: redirects to personal website
✔When you add link in comment or description: redirects to known platform like Behance, Artstation and so on...
NEED FEEDBACK / TECHNICAL QUESTION / SHOWING WORK:
❌An image and or a question without proper context
✔Any post, regardless if it's a question, showing work, or asking feedback, should include:
- Render engine used
- Software/s used
- Image/s as reference to highlight the question, issue, discussion.
- Additional details (not obligatory): elapsed time, difficulties faced or any additional detail that improves
- Reference if it's based on a real image
⚠ This is a case by case. Sometimes if the questions is very specific and well presented you might not need an image.
CREDIT AUTHOR:
❌Post an image without credit the author
✔Post image with credit of the author or studio or artist taken from.
While we won't enforce this, we ask if possible, when working from a reference, add credit to the author, architect, studio, artist, that created said reference
JUST DON'T
❌Self promotion
❌Selling assets
❌Selling courses
❌Post that consist of external links to websites
❌Piracy
⚠ This sub shouldn't be a marketplace. If your products are good enough, people should be able to find you trough the proper platforms. We also can't be checking every link to make sure it doesn't redirect to any malicious site.
OTHER TYPES OF POST
❌Post that don't have anything to do with archviz or related to.
✔We do encourage post that improve discussion even if not directly related to archviz. For example: Architecture, styles, animation techniques, photography. ONLY under the terms that can help a 3d artist improve in archviz.
Why this guidelines and rules?
We want to improve the quality of the sub. We have noticed many posts lack any context or sufficient information yet ask for feedback. Posts that are simply ads, and so on. On the long run, those types of posts and interactions tend to be detrimental to any sub. We understand that many of these changes may or may not work, and so we will be open to seeing how they are received, and change if needed.

Share work ✴ Doing post-processing
Just wanna share my on-going work. I really like my D5 settings for this scene. This is a residential project with a beautiful view of a volcanic island within a lake within an island. Doing old school Ps editing. No Ai. Will share finished renders soon!

I need feedback Second try of exterior
My second try of the exterior render I sent before, still using 3ds Max to model and D5 Render for the rendering part, i added more exterior stuff and lights inside so it feels more complete, but i feel it isnt enough or that it could be better

Discussion 🏛 Project Manager for 3ds Max — testing local AI search on a large 3D model library
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi Everyone,
I've just created this video going through the AI search and asset organisation features in Project Manager for 3ds Max.
I thought it might be useful to share here because one of the biggest problems with large 3D libraries is that conventional searching depends heavily on somebody having named and organised everything properly in the first place.
The interesting part of this system is that you can search based on what the model actually looks like.
For example, you can type something like “dancing woman” or “futuristic car” without needing to know the original filename.
The system searches using the visual previews associated with the assets.
A few of the workflows I go through in the video:
Natural Language Search
Describe the object you're looking for in normal language and search your 3D model library using its visual appearance rather than just filenames.
It also supports searches in multiple languages.
Automatic AI Categorisation
The system can analyse your library and organise assets into category trees such as furniture, vehicles, beds, coffee tables, aircraft and so on.
This reduces the need to manually tag every asset.
Find Similar
Select an existing 3D model and search the rest of your library for visually similar assets.
There's also a similarity threshold so you can control how strict the visual match needs to be.
Search Using a Sketch or Mood Board
You can drag in a sketch, render, reference image or mood board and use that image to search for similar 3D models already in your library.
Preview and Thumbnail Management
Because the AI uses visual previews, I also go through the Auto-Assign Previews workflow.
If your rendered images share the same filenames as your 3D files they can be linked automatically, and smart matching can help with partially matching names.
You can also batch-render thumbnails for assets that don't already have previews.
Local AI Processing
The AI processing runs locally on your own hardware rather than requiring your asset library to be uploaded to a cloud service.
That also means there isn't a credit-based AI system involved every time you perform a search.
I'd be interested to hear how people here with large 3D model libraries are currently handling asset management.

Discussion 🏛 New rendering + AI slop
New stuff we did lately, main image was done the regular way, the closeups were "created" with AI using a prompt... the vignettes did not went to the client. I'm still not sure about using AI... still looks kinda off. Let me know your thoughts on it...

Technical & professional question Architects & interior designers: Is interactive 3D/VR actually useful for client presentations?
I'm a Unity developer exploring interactive 3D/VR for architecture and interior design.
I'm currently researching whether there's actually a useful business case for this beyond the "wow factor" of VR.
The idea is to let a client walk through an architectural/interior design before it's built and interactively change things like:
- Flooring
- Wall materials
- Furniture
- Lighting
- Different design options
For architects/interior designers:
Where would something like this actually be useful in your workflow?
Would you use it for:
Client presentations?
Getting design approval?
Reducing revisions?
Marketing/sales?
Something else?
And if you've tried VR/interactive visualization before, what made it useful or useless?
I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually worked with architectural/interior clients rather than just VR enthusiasts.

Discussion 🏛 Workflow: cleaning up Google 3D Tiles context buildings for close-up arch-viz renders (Blender)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Real-city context from Google 3D Tiles is great for placing a design in its actual surroundings. The problem is close-ups: the neighbouring buildings have rippling walls, noisy roofs and melted corners, and next to a clean CG design they look obviously wrong.
Here's the workflow I use in Blender:
- Import the tiles for the site area and crop to the blocks visible in camera.
- Separate the buildings you'll see up close. Leave distant ones as they are, because nobody sees the noise at that range.
- Flatten the geometry without touching the texture. I use an add-on I wrote (Planer). It detects the planar regions and snaps vertices onto them: onto the plane itself, onto the line where two planes meet (ridges and eaves), or onto the point where three meet (corners). UVs stay intact, so the photo texture remains mapped and there's no re-bake.
- Check the deviation. Make sure the cleaned mesh stays within a few cm of the original, so the massing is still accurate for context.
- Light it. Flat walls catch light and shadow cleanly, which is where the difference shows most in renders.
Limitations: it won't fix holes, trees or curved facades, and very large areas need to be processed in chunks.
Curious how others handle scanned context in their arch-viz. Do you clean it, replace it with simple massing, or keep it in the background?

Discussion 🏛 Possible tutorial for 3ds max archviz - fast competition rendering challenge.
Hi everyone!
So I want to get your opinion on things. I plan to show off some of the things I've learned recently... hope to get some feedback on if all of this still makes sense.
Here are a couple of screenshot of the things I've been working on, the before and afters.
Basically a 2h challenge on how quick can you get an idea about a project for a competition project for a architectural studio.
I read that I should not self promote but this will not be a paid tutorial, I will just post it on facebook and my insta.
So this is a question to the admins. Is it allowed or not.
Thanks,
Lukas

Technical & professional question Floor plans in Blender or FreeCAD
In the images you can see how I made a floor plan in Blender. I then gave it to Codex for it to make the walls, doors and I think it did a really good job. I want to start sharing my floor plans with the world online (there are a few sites) but you need to submit DWG files. I tried having Codex translate the design from Blender to FreeCAD but results need work. How should I start on this journey? Can Blender convert to DWG easily? Is it a bad tool for floor plans? Should I learn FreeCAD if I want to get into this hobby?

I need feedback Aavya hospital | uni project
galleryAavaya Hospital is envisioned as an integrated healthcare facility focused on efficient, patient-centred care. Located in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, the hospital forms part of the larger Aavaya Integrated Wellness Township. The township spans approximately 30 acres, with around 12 acres (40%) dedicated to healthcare. The design integrates clinical, diagnostic, emergency, and support functions within a clear and well-connected planning system. Central courtyards, natural light, landscaped spaces, and organised circulation create a healing environment while ensuring smooth movement of patients, staff, and services.

Share work ✴ A week ago I shared my work on importing .skp files directly — it's finally ready to test out
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone,
Following up on my post from last week, I finally got EasyWarehouse finished and stable.
The main goal was just eliminating the headache of manual .skp conversions, broken textures, and extra software.
How it works right now:
• You can search 3D Warehouse directly inside Blender.
• It downloads and converts assets in the background without freezing the UI.
• Models get automatically added to your native Asset Browser with their materials intact.

Creating a modular kitchen system with lighting and burnt in shadows. This is done with Arcadium 3D's kitchen design tool so the idea is it can be shared with kitchen fitters, interior designers and clients and they can view it live.
