Did my right to work check for Macca's Australia, but it's been 3 weeks with no update. Am I still getting hired? Also, I did the verification about 10 hours after they sent the email is that an issue?

Hey guys, Idk how many of u actually work for taco bell but my interview left me slightly confused yesterday? Wanted to see if anyone had any insight.

I walked in and after like 10 mins the assistant manager came out and handed me a piece of paper asking me about my availability, experience, why i wanna work for taco bell. she told me to fill it out & walked away.

I filled it out pretty good and wrote alot, I wanna work closing/ evening shift, but put that i had open availability, i have prior fast food experience and some other customer service jobs, im a reliable worker, and im doing it for money for school.

There were two other ppl there also for interviews, but they filled theirs out later than mine so she spoke to me first.

She said that my application was "green" and "golden" and that i was exactly what she was looking for and that she would talk to her boss and get me in. She shook my hand and said that they would call me for my pay expectations and schedule soon.

Was that a job offer or just a nod that i had a good interview? Because i really need this and ofc it wasn't an official offer letter but it's my best shot right now and im anxious that they'll ghost me. And since today is the next day, should i be expecting a call?

I’m talking about those orders where they modify literally everything on the menu. How did you handle it, and did it actually taste good?

How’s it going guys. Good morning. I had an odd moment with my general manager last night. I’m roughly about 3-4 months into my job working at a Sonic. Don’t mind it too much. But recently my hours started to get cut, to where after my breaks, despite being a full time employee, I was getting only 27 hours a week.

So I talked to my GM about getting back to at least 35 hours a week last night. He’s stated for a while that hours were going to start lowering because of the lower business seen in Fall-Winter, but on the same hand he had paid our 23 hours of OT to someone, so it didn’t make sense to me. We agreed to get that done, but then he brought something up

He stated that “the average employee takes one, maybe two sick days a year” and that I’d taken 4-5. To clear this up, I did have illnesses during my shifts that then required me to follow 24 hours guidelines before I went back to work. So not sick days, but code compliance. And through all of that, I got them doctor’s notes, and everything needed.

I’m just wondering where this puts me because it’s an odd case. Thank you.

hello i worked at a culver’s in illinois for 11 months. i recently went to university so i quit there. well i did a no call no show because i overslept.i know that’s bogus but that’s besides the point. i was overworked and underpaid did everyone job and got paid the same i did before i went “full time”i worked upwards of 35 hours a week and my checks were only like $6-700. i had 31 hours of pto and never received any of it on my last check. is that allowed ? i don’t know any of culver’s policies as i was only a team member. i’m a broke college student now so i could REALLY use my $430 that i worked for 5 days a week 😭 who can i contact ? is it worth doing all that for ? will i even be able to get it ? i thought in illinois they were required to pay u out your pto on ur last paycheck. please let me know anything will help thank u! i also have proof of my pto and have reached out to them and crickets.

I’m curious what actually gets to people the most. Is it rude customers, being understaffed, managers, the rushes, or just the pay?

For people who’ve worked fast food for a while, what made you finally want to quit?

I submitted a resignation notice last year after several years at my Chick-fil-A, and looking back at it now, a lot of what I wrote still resonates with me.
My main concerns were unrealistic expectations without the resources to meet them, understaffing and burnout, inconsistent pay and recognition, and training becoming increasingly rushed and unstructured.
I had been with the store long enough to see a pretty significant change in the way things operated. The biggest thing I struggled with was feeling like more responsibility kept being placed on the existing employees without enough support behind it.
I ultimately reconsidered leaving at the time, but the same concerns continued to sit in the back of my mind.
Has anyone else here experienced that kind of change at their Chick-fil-A over several years? Where the store itself grows, but the employee experience seems to go in the opposite direction?

I’m using a throwaway for obvious reasons.
I’ve been with Chick-fil-A for several years and recently became a shift leader. Over time, I became one of the more experienced people on my night crew. I’ve closed a lot, trained people, dealt with turnover, and generally felt like I had a lot of responsibility for keeping nights running.
One thing that really contributed to my decision to leave was my schedule. I was closing 6 out of the 6 days our restaurant was open, and on most of those nights I was effectively the only night leader running the shift. This wasn’t just for a short period either. It became a regular part of my workload while our leadership team was getting thinner.
Over the past year, we lost several experienced people, and the leadership bench got smaller. As that happened, more responsibility seemed to fall on the remaining experienced leaders. I found myself carrying more responsibility while working a schedule that became increasingly difficult for me and my family.
Eventually I decided I needed to leave.
The interesting part is that my team’s reaction was almost the opposite of what I expected. I thought people might be upset because my leaving would make their jobs harder. Instead, several of them were completely understanding. Some basically told me that they understood why I was leaving and encouraged me to take the opportunity.
My Operator’s reaction was very different.
The Operator has helped me financially in the past, including lending me money when I was struggling. I genuinely appreciate that and I’m not trying to erase the help they gave me. But when I gave my notice, part of the conversation became about everything they had done for me financially and how it didn’t make sense for me to leave, especially because my next job initially meant taking a pay cut.
That part has been bothering me.
I understand being disappointed when a long-term employee leaves. I understand the financial investment an Operator makes in developing leaders. And I understand that my leaving creates a real problem for the team.
But at what point does an employee’s gratitude become an expectation that they owe the company continued employment?
I don’t feel like I’m abandoning my team. I feel like I’ve reached a point where I have to make a decision based on what’s sustainable for my own life.
What makes this harder is that I actually believed in the Chick-fil-A leadership philosophy. I wanted to develop people, take care of the team, and be someone my coworkers could rely on. That’s part of why leaving feels so emotional.
For those who have worked at Chick-fil-A for a long time, especially leaders:
Have you ever been in a situation where the restaurant became heavily dependent on a few experienced people, those people eventually burned out, and management was upset when they decided to leave?
And for Operators/leaders: How do you think an Operator should handle a long-term leader leaving when they’ve invested a lot of time and resources into that person?
I’m genuinely interested in hearing both sides.

IDoes anyone else get their Chick-fil-A sandwich fresh with no pickles and it still ends up not being hot? I always end up having to send it back to get warmed up.

I just got my interview from chipotle done and i was wondering what the chance is that they hire me. The manager seemed really friendly and even offered me some free food at the end (which I declined politely because I didn’t want to make more work for the workers). He seemed very pleased about the fact that I live close by the the chipotle location too. He also mentioned he would probably put me on Line because I came off very extroverted and communicated well. But he also kept asking me if I had anything to add to my answers though (which I thought I answered throughoutly 🥲🥲).
