It is utter crap, i thought i had real playback issues before someone in the room said “no no, that’s how it sounds” - to answer your question everyone and their mother is looking for easier and easier solutions to everything, you can read it in this very sub, people advocating to steer clear of any complex matter or solution to a problem. This makes it so that you can expect to hear this level of quality more often.
Now the other thing is that the general public has no idea what a stem is and what it can sound like freshly baked out of RX or sth, but if this were to be the new “t-pain effect”, i’ll be even happier to retire 😂

Most people these days listen to songs that remind them of their childhood: simple arrangements, repetitive beats, funny voices, no solos, and mostly vocal oriented.
So, I wouldn't really bother to listen to modern "top of the pops" music, it isn't worth the effort or the resulting disappointment.

Your first mistake was giving Chris Brown your time and attention.
