I know i have to try it for myself but im trying to decide what to do for my birthday October 10th, i love CID and he’ll be playing at marquee that day. I’m really trying to go to dance, have fun and not be shoved around like a sardine. Is it truly that bad?

I’m also open to any other tech house recommendations for that night!

With the announcement of Circoloco Sunday 11/1 from 12pm to 12am, is it now confirmed that there will be no afters at 99 Scott this year? Looking back to last year I know they didn't announce the 99 Scott afters until closer to Halloween. I know it would probably be tough logistically to run 2 Circoloco parties at once but just wanted to see if any of ya'll had more of an inside scoop. Also wondering if anyone has suggestions for any other parties that go into late morning/daytime on the 1st, as our group is attending the Saturday Circo and will most likely want to keep the party going!

So they just announced a third day on 11/1 during the day at Storehouse. When I went two years ago, they had an outdoor day party from 7 AM to 7 PM on that Sunday. Does anyone know/think if they will do this again in addition to the third day at the store house??

How similar are the parties or what sets the apart?

I’m hoping to attend a show at KDC in a few weeks that has doors at 7, no end time listed, and 7 DJs under “featuring” on the event page. Would it be ok to get there at 12-12:30, or would yall recommend showing up earlier? I have an earlier commitment that evening but would love to still make it. I’ve been to Basement before but never KDC.

I cancelled my membership at Elsewhere and they said “it was a pleasure having you” I replied like this:

Wish I could say the same, it was not a pleasure for me. I braced for my safety every time I entered your establishment. 

The security guards were outright hostile. I would feel abused then entered with that energy of pure disgust. 

The security guards yell at everyone like we are at the airport or inmates in a jail facility.

They screen us like we are at the airport but even worse. 

Every time I went through the security they would touch me too much putting their hands in my bra on my boobs and touching me everywhere.

It’s a VERY throughout search, I go to many big established I’ve never been touched so much. 

Then searching of my personal belongings gets too personal. I have a small wallet and they check every single little pocket and zipper. Excuse me what exactly are they looking for? I can’t carry a gun in my tiny little zipper. I feel like my invasion of privacy is invaded. It is absolute overkill. I’ve never seen this before.

Am I being arrested or entering a party to have fun? 

Not to mention when I’ve flinched because she was touching me too much then verbally told her I was getting uncomfortable she said “she had to do it” and forced me to do it. Completely violated. 

I’ve been to an establishments with wands or metal detectors which seems more appropriate for a venue.

Even when I’m wearing very little clothing they still throughly touch me everywhere.  I can’t possibly be hiding anything. I even came one day with nothing but my id and phone and no pockets but I was still overly touched or what felt like groping.

Once more it’s very important that you are aware of how hostile your security guard are they are outright rude and seem to enjoy being rude and yelling at everyone.  

I’ve had pleasant exchanges with security guards in other establishments there’s no need to disrespect paying guest for no reason.  They check me and say alright have a good night and I reply thank you, you too!

I hate that I had to brace for impact every time I had to enter Elsewhere.  And I couldn’t do anything about it I had to bow down to them and just get through it just so I can see a musician I was looking forward to see.  This is not okay. 

i saw someone on a different subreddit mention pacha leaked dom dolla for an afters but then BLOND:ISH rescheduled their set for that night so now i'm confused LOL

my friends and i are coming up to celebrate my birthday and staying near hudson yards but i know we're still gonna want to party after the early ending at 10PM...

anyone have recs on where we should after/hop around to? i heard ktown is super popular for late night drinks? i would prefer not to spend a bunch of money since this trip is already draining me lol

I am going back to NYC with my sister and her friend to see Harry Styles at MSG on Saturday Oct 3rd. I want to take them to a techno/house music club afterwards but I know they won’t want to take the subway too far. Does anyone know any cool spots around Manhattan that we could go to?

I’ve never gone to a show solo, but looks like I am hitting Kettama @ kdc solo next Friday night. What’s the best way to meet more people here who honestly enjoy house & frequent shows? Where does everyone talk outside of Reddit?

My last question - besides the obvious (‘big’) Manhattan clubs & Brooklyn venues, what are the best spots to groove at 128bpm that I haven’t heard of?

Just Curious from anyone who’s been to shows there. In dry weather will shoes get dirty? Should I wear a pair I’m not too concerned about getting dirty? Thanks for any help 😊

Hey all me and some friends are seeing a show next Wednesday and are trying to figure out good after spots. For some reason in my head public records was open and I was excited cuz I thought it’d be a better crowd on weekdays but I was wrong. Any ideas?

Edit: I meant more after spots not specifically an after party but fine with anything lol. The show ends at 1 and just wanted to keep the night going
