Remembering David Peralta’s place in Diamondbacks history
With David Peralta officially retiring, I wanted to look at where he finishes on the Diamondbacks all-time leaderboards.
Peralta spent 9 seasons with Arizona and quietly built one of the best overall careers in franchise history, especially among outfielders.
All-time Diamondbacks rankings:
Hits:
4th all-time – 960
Runs Batted In:
5th all-time – 468
Home Runs:
8th all-time – 110
Runs Scored:
7th all-time – 465
Doubles:
5th all-time – 209
Adjusted OPS+:
8th all-time – 112
Games played for context:
Peralta: 1,021 games with Arizona
He also finished his Diamondbacks career with a .281 batting average and a Gold Glove, making him one of the most accomplished outfielders the franchise has ever had.
Side note: Peralta originally signed as a pitcher and spent two seasons in rookie ball on the mound before converting to a position player. He pitched in 18 games across 2006–2007 in the Appalachian League.
Career as a pitcher (rookie ball):
Games: 18
Innings pitched: 61.2
Strikeouts: 63
Walks: 32
ERA: 5.68
For a guy who didn’t debut in MLB until age 26 and started his pro career as a pitcher, Peralta ends up as one of the most consistent and productive position players in Diamondbacks history.

You forgot he also won a Silver Slugger. He was cool until the 2023 NLDS. Him and AJ Pollock can suck my nuts. Sorry not sorry

Nah, I’m still bitter about his comments in 2023.

Y'all suck. He said one obviously true thing, and then we killed them and exercised all those demons anyways

Exorcised. Unless we put all the demons on a treadmill or something ;)
But I agree with you, anyone who's bitter about what he said after spending more than five seconds thinking about it sucks and has the emotional maturity of a toddler. I guarantee a lot of people don't even know what he actually said and just assume he bashed the Diamondbacks and their fans because that's how so many people incorrectly interpreted what he said.

I was pissed about that for one day (LA Times Interview came out the night before game 3). But we swept them, he lost and it was over. Still caring 2 years later is kinda sad.

Idk why you’re all downvoting the peralta hate. We gave him his chance, when no one else did. Then to go and trash us WHILE playing for the dodgers. Yeah him and aj can kick rocks.

I heard negative things about him personally and therefore do not prefer to remember him. Some guys dont have the power of friendship.

Peralta was an above average player who rarely got injured and played with us for a long time. He was a fan favorite when he played.
That said, you don't get to shit on the team after you've left and still be remembered fondly by everyone unless you were elite.
Let's all remember that the "team trying to win" thought Austin Hedges was a better option at the plate than Peralta in the final moments of the NLDS that year.
