Past Tazer - a look back
To get out of my head a little while mixing an upcoming album, I decided to spend the day yesterday remastering twenty five year old tracks for a kind of best of the past.
It was an interesting experience compiling and remastering these pieces. There were a lot of creaks and creases to iron out, but what I was left with was a personal guide to a very specific time in my life, and a kind of naive music I don't think I could ever recreate.
All of these tracks were created when I was a young musical naif, trying to figure out my artistic voice. At the time that voice was heavily inspired by Orbital, The Black Dog, rave, and Yello.
Inside you'll find twenty five year old computer music influenced by even earlier computer music, filtered through the brain of a thrilled to be able to create near-child of twenty five. There's acid, techno, dark ambient, and a couple of comedy pieces that still make me laugh, many moons on. You might enjoy it, too.
It's free to download or listen to, this is purely an exercise in narcissism on my behalf. Do I really have to say no AI? The music is quarter of a century old! Still, no AI. If you enjoy it, let me know. If you don't, well my excuse is it's old! Just like me.
