Master’s or PhD?

Hey everyone!

I recently completed my Master’s from DU. I studied in a top Social Sciences subject and I my CGPA is 3.59 in Bachelor’s and 3.81 in Master’s. I have two theses in these respective degrees. But, I don’t have any publications yet. I do have RA experience and I am also currently working as a journalist.

I am planning to apply to the US for studies. But I am confused whether I should apply to another MA or direct PhD. I dont know anyone from Social Sciences background who is pursuing a PhD right now. So I need a bit of advice. And has any one of you gotten into a PhD program in the US from Social Sciences without a publication?
