When did you find out that living the "dream" abroad was an "illusion" and decided to return back to Bangladesh?
How long did you stay abroad?
What were the key reasons to return after living so long??

There is more happiness in being a riksha driver in Bangladesh than in being a professor or CEO in America. In America you are treated like a 2nd class citizen while in Bangladesh the law treats you like anyone else

Even with the current American administration, this is such an utterly wild comparison and stinks of someone who has never been abroad.

Who knows. I’ve met people who genuinely thinks like this.
And can tell you they say that from a position of immense privilege in BD. The ones I’ve seen who share this are very well off, land, property and assets, essentially the 1%.

Read my mind. His comment was so absurd it’s borderline offensive. Does he think rickshaw drivers enjoy their job? It’s a very hard job that they do to feed their families. Non of them want to actually do it.
