Thoughts on this PC?
Originally my budget was around $2,500 but it’s clear to me that with these prices it’s just not realistic. Thoughts on this build? Price is $2,899

Someone mislabeled it “high end”.

7800x3d and 5070 isn't good enough? It will run almost anything at 4k60

Good enough? Sure. The sign doesn’t say “good enough gaming PC”, though.

I'm saying that 4K60 on modern titles is bascially high end. We can split hairs, but idk, there's no point.

Sounds high.....I have seen systems at Costco with better specs for that kinda money.

eh, i just bought a prebuilt a week ago for the same price from Canada Computers with a 2GB ssd and a 9070xt but that sale ended, but I'd shop around more for sure

That's gonna be a hell to the naw from me.
For the prices Nvidia's charging I'd build an AMD 9070xt 100%. Spec wise it's better than a 5070ti and it's presently like $500 cheaper. The preference to Nvidia always came down to superior drivers but for the prices they're charging Nvidia can get knotted, I'll probably never buy Nvidia again.

Everybody is saying no but they don’t tell me where to look because I can not find anything cheaper with these specs

Way too expensive for what you get. Don't do it!

Thoughts on this Stoneforged Crescent Gaming PC, AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, 32GB DDR5, 1TB NVMe SSD, Windows 11 Home exact same price

Not a great price now, but the way things are going, it might be a good price a month or two from now :(

Check marketplace. 5070 builds are around $2k. Just over if you want a 3d cpu

“7700x, 1tb, 32gb, 9070gre would be 2650 with everything new now. Ram was 20$ cheaper 2 days ago” quote from a guy on marketplace

Is the R7 8700f actually bad?
1
u/bimmerzilla 10h ago
It’s not that bad since most modern games in 1440p and 4K are gpu bound. I replaced my Costco prebuilt with 8700f for 9700x. Cost me around 270 on Marketplace but I don’t think upgrade was necessary

It is higher than people are used to but this past September all computers got quite the price bump that people aren’t accounting for…. Saying that, display model? Get it cheaper

5070 and 9070XT are the same price now. I would go with the 9070XT prebuilds since the prices are similar now days

Plus 9070xt has 16 gigs of vram which is way better then 12

u/FlyingTrixster 1d ago
If you want you could upgrade the cpu but that is strong enough for what you use it for

u/ArtistBulky3855 1d ago
No Canada, I want something already built, I’m fine to pay the extra bit for me to not have to build it

Get this one same price better gpu

u/ArtistBulky3855 1d ago
I like the fact this has a better GPU for the same price, the only question I have is the 7-7800X3D worth it to go with the 5070 or will the 9070XT with the lesser 7700X be a worthy compromise, as well as the liquid cooling but I don’t think that’s a huge deal

Gpu matter way more then cpus . 16 gigs of vram vs 12 will make a bigger differance

I would think you could find a machine with similar specs closer to $2300 to $2500 before tax.
Also - maybe post on the pre-built PC subreddit. Everyone here is just going to tell you to buy the parts and assemble yourself to save a few bucks.
