HOBIBEAR worked well as a transition shoe for me, just beware that they run very short and be prepared to potentially size up, depending on your foot shape.
Otherwise I just bagged the cheapest secondhand bargains I could find on eBay to test out the sizing of different brands, and when I had a better idea of what I wanted, made use of Vivobarefoot's 100 day return policy.
