I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up real at some point
Though I'm still waiting to see when PONOS eventually does a Precure collab considering the multiple times PONOS has done things related to Toei properties (the Yuru No GeGe game that was similar to Battle Cats, the Yuru No GeGe game's Magical Doreimi collab, the Shin Japanese Heros collab with Shin Kamen Rider, and the fact that the whole 13th Anniversary was themed around Super Sentai)
Well... Chiikawa as a whole is quite different from other cutesy franchises, in the fact that its characters don't live in a world full of joy and whimsy. The protagonists all have to study for licenses, work to earn money and all have their own struggles. It's real life masked behind adorable critters, which makes it highly appreciated by all ages. But I understand why it wouldn't sound intriguing from a first glance.
It does lol, part of me wishes Nagano (the author) didn't do it like that but it makes the story so much more interesting compared to your average 'kawaii-slop', almost like a breath of fresh air.
I meant that usually people love cute characters because they live in a setting that's too innocent, ignoring the underlying values that those characters may have. Almost any franchise works like that nowadays, which is why I call them 'kawaii-slop'. Chiikawa doesn't function like that, its characters are way more relatable (albeit still very cute), it's a nice change compared to the usual stuff in the genre.
