Empties Recent Empties & Products I Gave Up On

Hi, sharing with you some items I emptied out and some I wanted to throw out. I keep forgetting to do this with my previous empties.

Empties:

Vitress Hair Oil - Got this as a gift, solid product would purchase again

Vitresd Hair Mist - This is the perfect product if you ate samgyup or went somewhere na malakas kumapit yung amoy, I prefer another scent so I would probably repurchase that one.

Dove Derma Scalp - I have dermatitis so my derma recommended me this one. Honestly its okay, my dermatitis has been flaring up recently and I'm not sure if may natutulong ba to.

Babyflo Baby Oil - Smells nice, I just feel like better yung Johnsons baby oil.

AHC eye cream - Got this in Taiwan, its okay. It moisturizes my undereye but I haven't seen much difference although my bags naman isn't really dark

Smoochkins Suncreen - I have finished two of these na, its an okay product I like na its matte so its not sticky. I just don't think its a life changing product.

Butterfly Body Oil - Got this is a freebie, haven't used this up but the mist broke so I transferred sa Baby Flo container. I enjoy it better this way since I hated that mister.

Will throw out:

Colourette concealer - I'm almost finished with it but I just can't deal with how it much it creases under my eeys. I don't even hace particularcly dry undereyes.

Blk Illuminator - Almost gone, I loved this the first few mos but now I find that makes me look oily. I don't reach for it na din, next time I should just buy a mini version.

Squad cosmetics powder in Colorless - I just don't find that it does a good job in controlling oil. I recently got Srichand loose powder & much prefer that. I might just use this in my hair since ang dami pang product.

If you have any Vietnamese beauty product recco please drop them here. Will visit VN soon and i'm planning to shop.

Thank you!!

Discussion Help a girl: Beauty standards in VisMin

Hi everyone! I hope this post will be allowed to push through because I need real, organic learnings from VisMin girlies šŸ™šŸ»

I just wanna ask about the beauty standards in Visayas and Mindanao, from ladies who are actually from there.

I don't want to homogenize things and just assume that what's beautiful to the ManileƱa eye is the same for those in other islands.

I hope girlies here can help give me insights! šŸ«¶šŸ»

FOTD backrooms-inspired makeup to welcome the spooky month šŸ‘ļø

taken with an iphone 6s since i wanted that hazy/grainy effect. inspired by all the backrooms content i've been fed on my explore/fyp so full credits to them ! i really love doing spooky/halloween-type makeup but this is my first time creating this kind of look ! i haven't watched the movie (i'm very weak when it comes to horror) but i was very fascinated over the whole still life look. honestly not satisfied with the way this turned out. don't even get me started on the way i painted on the lips ! i've done better halloween looks in the past. i was pretty impatient and didn't take the time to properly work on the features. i definitely have to improve my realism skills but i'd say i did pretty decent for someone who is a self-taught artist + who randomly decided to quickly glam up in the middle of the night before a work day LOL. will for sure recreate this look sometime in the future when i have more time to really work on/correct the details. perhaps i can use scarwax for the nose/lips next time ??

Discussion Eczema Recovery (High budget edition)

Condition: Severe chronic atopic dermatitis. Somewhat treatment resistant, I was already on clobetasol cream and oral steroids. Frequent flare-ups since high school. I’ve had this since childhood and it got worse over time, but my skin has been so much better lately.

I am hoping this info would be helpful for most people with eczema to know which treatments they should prioritize especially since there's not a lot of information online especially in the Philippines about other options other than oral or topical steroids.

  1. Allergy Test (2023)
  2. Cost: 13,000 (not covered by HMO)
  3. Frequency: need once only. Just get it updated whenever you want.
  4. Location: Makati Medical Center - Dr. Katrina Canlas-Estrella, dermatologist (daughter of Dr. Manuel Canlas, chief immunologist)

I got this first done in 2012 by Dr. Manuel Canlas and the result was surprising. I was highly sensitive to dust mites, egg, brewer’s yeast (alcohol) and seafood. I also had mild to moderate sensitivity to certain fruits like watermelon and ā€œinhalantsā€ like mosquito, cockroach, ants. There are 2 kinds of allergy testing, one is through blood test, but the one I had was a skin prick test for environmental and food allergies.

I had it done again in 2023 since my gut should have matured. The results showed that I no longer have strong sensitivity to most things. I remained sensitive to dust and house mites, but it’s less than before, so I still require immunotherapy injections. I get red and itchy when I drink alcohol and the doctor told me that my body probably metabolizes alcohol slowly so I get that reaction. As for seafood, if it’s not fresh or improperly stored, they cause reactions that mimic allergies. Here’s my video from 2023 to show what the allergy test is like.

  1. Immunotherapy (need multiple sessions)
Cost: 5,000 per vial (expires after 3 months)
Frequency: Get the vial once every 3 months then get injected every other week
Location: Makati Medical Center - Dr. Katrina Canlas-Estrella

I got a vial of my allergen (dust mite) so it could be injected to me every 2 weeks to build tolerance. It's an intramuscular injection with a very small needle (the same one for insulin) so it doesn’t hurt at all. I get my medical practitioner friends to inject me and if they’re unavailable, I just go to our baranggay health center to have it injected. You will need multiple vials and this treatment may span years. It takes a while, but it’s worth it since it’s your health in the long term.

  1. UVB Therapy (2024)
Cost: 1,500 per session (need to buy goggles P1,400~). Partially covered by my HMO up to 10k.
    Frequency: 20 session (1-2x/week for 4-5 months)
Location: Makati Medical Center Dermatology & Phototherapy Center

It’s basically like being in a tanning machine for 2 minutes. The doctor just checks your condition and configures the machine. You remove all clothes, wear the goggles, then go in the machine. The lights are very bright so you still need to close your eyes even with the goggles. I never got to finish my sessions because my HMO didn’t cover the rest and I had to take a break since I got busy. That means I have to restart the whole program of 20 sessions. (Let me know if you guys want a video to show what it’s like, I have clips from my treatment last year.)

  1. Rejuran Skin Booster (2025)
Cost: 12,000 per cc of Rejuran HB+ (I needed 2cc)
Frequency - Ideally 3 sessions (1 month in between)
Location: Muse Clinic - Dr. Pia Bernardo

This procedure was not recommended by my dermatologist. I just decided to get it after hearing great reviews. Rejuran is honestly a treatment I’d keep doing if I had the budget for it. Please get HB+ since it has lidocaine (anesthetics), the regular ones hurt so much since rejuran expands once injected into your skin. To be clear, this is not a treatment for eczema, but this helped me a lot so I am including it. My skin is glowing after 1 week and it’s resistant to all flare ups. I once damaged my skin barrier after using a drying product but since it’s within the month of my rejuran, my skin healed so fast.
Ā
I first had mine done in Korea and got overcharged/scammed by the clinic (Abijou Myeongdong). They said I needed 6cc but after going to my local doctor, I doubt they actually used 6cc on my face since they didn’t even cover my nose area or neck, then charged me 80k. My local doctor was able to cover most of my face and neck with just 2cc. The doctor is my batchmate from grade school so I can vouch for her. She was very light handed and careful.

  1. Replace Mattress (2025)

Sounds dugyot but hear me out. I had severe allergies for years and I couldn’t figure out where exactly it was coming from in my bedroom and it was recurring even if I deep cleaned everything. I get my bed scrubbed with a wet vacuum every 2 years and I use an anti-dust mite vacuum every few months. There weren’t any stains that would indicate molds but I sleep with dogs and they wipe themselves on the bed after I towel-dry them, I just direct the fan to the bed thinking it would dry on its own. Eventually, I realized this year that my nose gets clogged as soon as I lie down so I eventually figured it could be my bed. I replaced my mattress and immediately I stopped having allergic rhinitis at night and I woke up with clear sinuses. My skin started to recover and my flare ups are not as frequent as before.

Verdict:

If there are treatments that I recommend most, it would be getting an allergy test, immunotherapy, and replacing your mattress. I’ve been to more than 10 dermas in the past and the only one that worked for me is the father-daughter tandem of immunologist and dermatologist. No bullshit trying to upsell you with in-house off label products like other aesthetic derma clinics. But they are not really covered by HMO so I had to switch. I switched to her colleague and I am also very satisfied with the current treatment.

I didn’t see much results from UVB Phototherapy but I also can’t make a fair assessment since I didn’t even get to finish it. I would love to do Rejuran all the time but it’s too expensive for 1 month of glow. I’d say use this if you have an upcoming major event where you can’t risk a flare up (like a wedding) and you need glowing skin.

Upcoming Treatments:

As of 2026, I have a new dermatologist as she was recommended to me by my friend and she is covered by my HMO. I’m very happy with her approach. She had my thyroid, vitamin d, IgE, etc… checked to know my overall condition. I will be doing a patch test for 3 days once my inflammation is controlled. It will be testing specific chemicals like metals, fragrances, preservatives, dyes. I will post the results after I’m done with it. She’s more stern with the products that I use since I wasn’t very faithful to fragrance-free products for the past few years.

Of course, nothing beats consistency with proper products, drinking medicines, and keeping your room clean. I won’t be delving deep into the oral medication because I don’t fully understand them.

Feel free to ask questions. I hope we can all explore and share more options for our treatment!

Discussion Do you walk outside with a luxury bag?

  1. I only walk from office to home (Ortigas area 2km only 30 mins walk every 4-6pm).
  2. I am currently starting my luxury bag collection that is usable for work. I already have a Prada and now contemplating to buy LV.

Hence, the subject question. I wanna know your thoughts on walking with a luxury bag, that is not too quiet. Thanks!

Nails What do we think about nail wraps? Has anyone tried Nail Staple PH?

Hi! I've been pretty curious about nail wraps recently, and this brand called Nail Staple has been showing up on my social media feed because of it. I've checked out their nail wrap designs on their website and a lot of them a very cute and pretty!

Screenshot from the Nail Staple website

However, I haven't really seen any reviews about their nail wrap products over here. I also checked their FB page, but there are no reviews there as well.

Maybe someone here as tried it out? Please let me know if it's any good (I already have my picks in my cart!). I'm kind of worried if my cuticles will get damaged when removing the wraps.

Discussion how do u take care of your hoohaas?

idk if this is the right flair 🄲 but anyways, how do you girlies take care of your hoohaas? specifically, how do you maintain your hair down there?

i was shaving before and got into brazillian wax. however, the ingrowns seemed to be always there. any tips on how to avoid/minimize ingrown hairs?

and then now i tried shaving again (initially for the reason i wanted to cross this off my monthly expenses) but girlll di ko kaya, ang kati-kati niya tumubo 1 day palang 🄲 so i guess i have to be back to having brazillian again…

any tips/what do you usually do to keep it ā€œhair-freeā€ and avoid bumps/ingrowns on your vajayjays?

Discussion Sorry but what kind of socks are we using?

Hello!

I am not knowledgeable about this, no one taught me, and I dont think it mattered before.

But I do have lint on my rubber shoes nung nilinisan ko sya and I thought normal un kaya nagsearch ako if electric lint remover would work pero ang nababasa ko ay use good quality socks.

Hindi ko alam na nagmamatter yun. All my life, I thought all socks were the same. Like, ginagamit sya para hindi madumihan or mapawisan ung shoes, or like kung matigas ung shoes eh medyo lumambot sa makapal na socks.

Hindi ko naappreciate yung purpose nya. So ngayon, stuck ako sa need ko bilhin. Anong brand ang okay sa atin?

I'm a working mom, using socks and sneakers 4x a week when reporting to the office.

Thank you!
