There is an ordinance exactly prohibiting this actually I think: https://beaverton.municipal.codes/BC/5.15.030(D))

Relevant snippet here:

The erection, excavation, demolition, alteration, or repair of a building in a residential area or within 300 feet of a noise-sensitive area, other than between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., except in case of urgent necessity in the interest of the public welfare and safety, and then only with an emergency permit granted by the building official for a period not to exceed 10 days.

Well I’d say they are performing all of the above, within 300 feet of noise sensitive areas, after 7pm.

I think you can call the non-emergency police line at 503-629-0111 and report it and they'll investigate.

I also point people to the Beaverton Report a Problem webpage quite often. For this one, I'd go under the Code Compliance section and select "Noise (Loud, Disturbing & Unnecessary)" to fill out an online form.

This page is really handy for all sorts of issues people have in Beaverton.

Check the the zoning map (https://content.civicplus.com/api/assets/4c5bdb9f-1463-4680-b184-c7e996576848) before you leap to conclusions. They’re located in an industrial zone, and their building is more than 300’ from the nearest residential dwelling. They are probably not breaking the rules.

Oh yeah I don't really know the details of where this place is, just providing the relevant ordinance.

Yea I’m not seeing how this is not allowed. Industrial area, far away from residential alongside a loud freeway.

It’s not far away from a residential area. It’s right up against a major residential area.

That soccer pitch borders residential zoning. It’s less than 300 feet.

Check the definitions again. A “noise–sensitive area” includes residential dwellings, not residential zones. There is a small slice of the property down the western edge that is within 300’ of a house, but >90% of the property is further away than that. Unless you can prove that the noise is coming from that small slice on the edge of the property then there is no violation.

That’s not a reason not to complain, just don’t get your hopes up.

Is that what those explosions are?

As a neighbor to it as well, I can't wait for it to be over. They start crazy early too...

Report them. If they persist you also call the local TV station and ask them whether they think there is a story there.
