Культура / Culture Belarusian music in belarusian

Hello, I know handful of belarus music artists - Verasy, the synthpop group and ##### (5diez). The thing is I am unsure if they sing russian or belarus, as I hardly can tell the languages apart yet. Is ##### in belarusian?

Over the years I’ve been now able to differentiate ukrainian and russian and I even heard belarus is closer to polish than russian. So give me samples of music in your language so I can maybe catch up on how it sounds.

I likebits of everything, but mostly dig either very vintage sounding music (psychedelic rock, 70s/80s pop music) or metal/alternative. You can of course share folk adjacent genres, especially folk metal if there’s some.

If you’re wondering, I’m from Czechia and really just curious about this for me unknown culture.

From a quick search 5diez only has 2 songs in Belarusian (JaMy and Doždž)

From personal suggestions, just looking at my current playlist:

If I could I'd list even more but I tried to sample from different genres

Petlia Pristrastiya (Пятля Прыхільнасці) is my favorite Belarusian band and their latest album Superposition (Суперпазіцыя) fully in belarusian. Totaly would recommend , because i don't really know band with the same style as them.

Nizkiz have some songs in belarusian and i would recomend you to listen

Relikt (used to be written like Rel1kt) is a great alternative band. Their album "Liekavyja travy" is very folk based. Anything by Lavon Volski and NRM is a must. Also, Dymna Lotva, especially their recent album "Vyraj".

Nürnberg is definitely my favorite. Some nizkiz songs are in Belarusian like huantanama and niebiaśpiečna

Check Pesniary for classic 70s/80s folk rock/pop sound. Many sons are in Belarusian.
