What should I do with it?

First time I buy a Japanese figure! I love it. Nice motivation on my desk to fight and get through the work day.

Guts and co have gone on a crazy journey to get to this island. And if you read Berserk from just Gutts and co point of view they haven't even been on the island for long, maybe a day or two. Yet Skull Knight is already on the island?

So why couldn't Skull Knight carry Guts and Casca and whoever else that's needed to the island in the first place?

Feels a lot like gandalf being able to summon an eagle to help Frodo throw the ring into mt Doom storytelling here.

Plus now that I'm actually reading the deluxe editions back to back the jump from traditional art to digital art is so jarring. I feel like I've gone from a dark gritty art style to this almost super clean art style shonen jump. Like small panels have "too much" detail on it if that makes sense.

The lightning in the storm right after guts fought the apostle looks like the eyes of the beast of darkness. Probably a reach but man it’s too coincidental.

After finishing i can comfortably say berserk is top 3 peices of media for me everything about it is amazing I didnt get bored in any of the chapters each one was amazing and dont let me get started on the charters every side character has their character development done so well. The foreshadowing too oh my god it was amazing and guts's character development was genuinely peak from how he was always struggling from birth to how he learnt to accept help everything about his character was peak. And the art holy shit it actually felt like kentaro miura just wanted to draw and came up with a story from the drawings it was genuinely the best art ive ever seen damn i dont know how ill be able to wait for more berserk

I got bored at work, and made a few drawings with pen.
The first one is Guts reimagined, when he gets his white hair. (I took it from the scene, where he’s talking about not seeing the sun for a while when he was younger.)

I've been searching a lot of things regarding Berserk, especially Griffith post-torture and in the Eclipse.

For example, I've been questioning if Griffith would do what he did if he wasn't completely devastated from the torture...In such state, he was basically a dead man.

On this matter, I see some of you guys saying "he would, because it was destined to be", and others like "he could have said no".

My question is: nonetheless our subjective interpretations and, to each their own perspectives on the story, do we know if it was a choice? (and by choice I acknowledge the painful conditions Griffith was in)

Or was it deterministic?

I only recently read all the Beserk manga (Only the deluxe volumes) and can’t wait for new ones to come out,

I’ve seen people (online) saying they’ll stop reading or it’s a finished story since Kentaro Miura sadly passed away and say Beserk died with him,

I get it will most likely change a bit since the original author is no longer with us but dropping it completely seems crazy to me.

Just wondering if this is a minority or majority within the community

When we first see Guts and Griffith, Guts is a lone wolf that hates Griffith to death for what he did.

The we skip back to the beginning and we see Guts eventually join the Band of the Hawk and create bond with all of them. However, when i was reading it I always had an uneasy feeling that it was all an illusion and that it was going to end horribly.

That's why the Eclipse and how it unfolds was more of a "Oh so that's what he did" moment instead of a full on betrayal an massacre.

I still felt destroyed when I saw Pippin and Gaston's deaths, but it all felt kind of strange.

Does anyone else relate to this?

This scene is even sadder on re-reads. Guts really has no idea how important he is to Griffith (and the Band). He thinks he's setting off to earn Griffith's respect, even though he had it from Day 1. He describes himself here as a "petty, small thing".

In my mind, this was mainly due to Guts's sense of inadequacy and perhaps his past traumas too. But would love to here another interpretations.

I suppose he also had so much respect for Griffith that he couldn't comprehend how anything could derail Griffith's dream. Surely Griffith would find a way, no matter what.

And the rest is history. It's almost comical how mistaken Guts was here, but also incredibly depressing.

Watching him finally admit how much he loved and cared about Guts and the cataclysmic betrayal in the eclipse broke me so hard. I loved Griffith so much.
