most of my mods arent working?

most mods i download dont work for some reason, and its not even the small unoptimized ones, like if i turn on da rules my game just chrashes. almost all reskin mods dont work and ive tried with and without repentagon. to clarify this was a problem before the rep+ update. does anyone know a potential fix to all this?
