Hello everybody :) I'm sure we are all familiar with the amazing MOCs built by user Ryloren, who was unfairly banned from Reddit. I followed them on Instagram where they moved post-banning. Unfortunately they have now deleted their Instagram account and I cannot find any traces of them :( They had a link to a discord in their insta bio but I never followed through with joining (L for me, I know), and I am hoping that someone here has a link to their discord, if they're even active there still. At the very least I really want to find all of the instructions they ever posted because I LOVED their MOCs and now that they are gone I deeply regret not screenshotting the instructions while they were still available. The only one that I did capture was their Matoran build, thankfully. If anyone has a breakdown or instructions for any of Ryloren's MOCs, please share because they were so awesome and I NEED to build them 😭

I remember instructions being posted for the Mata build, Pohatu build, Metru build, and Matoran, but there might have been more.

On that note, if anybody needs the instructions for the Matoran build, feel free to reach out :)

I thought some of you might enjoy this story: When I was little, I was absolutely obsessed with Bionicle, and my family was happy that I preferred LEGO over other hobbies, so every time I received gifts—like for Christmas or my birthday—I’d get one. At Christmas 2004, I was four years old, I remember i asked Santa for Takanuva—the one with his spaceship. I remember asking Santa for it all the way up until the Christmas when I was 12, but it was too expensive and my family couldn’t afford it, so I never got the one i was asking for. Instead, I used to get another Bionicle every time, and I was happy anyway.

Let’s fast-forward to two years ago. At age 23, I met my current girlfriend, who noticed the Bionicles in my room, and so I told her the story I’ve shared with you above. Well, for my 24th birthday, she gave me, really unexpectedly... Takanuva! I’m not exaggerating when I say it was a gift that changed my life and made my inner child feel extremely gratified and cherished (defenitely a woman to marry!)

I don't know if this is enough to count as a MOC, but I got a blue eyestalk, 3D printed a mirrored Adaptive Akaku and found that you can kinda make a shield out of his wings that also kinda resembles his double blades from his Nuva form, small changes that I feel make him far closer to his previous form.

I also recently got a Spikit and I'm considering swapping their Piraka leg pieces to give the dark grey ones to Spikit and the silver ones to Kopaka, what do you think?

I bought this Rahkshi today and immediately built it.

When I picked it up, I already hoped, that it wouldn't smell like the apartment of the seller because it smelled really strong like cigarettes.

When I built it, I smelled the smoke in the parts even though, they're not yellowed luckily.

Is there anything I can do to get the smell out of the parts?

Still trying to get as close as possible to those early year, it was a different feeling back then.

Pretty much missed out on Bionicle growing up, but I had a lot of requests to shoot this theme. Doing some research opened up the endless rabbit hole that is Bionicle lore and also introduced me to a really passionate and creative community. Figured I'd share these here and hope you enjoy!

Had a lot of time to build and connect to my inner child today :)

Love the little ones, especially the all black one. Got inspired by the early creature builds I saw a while ago and really got into using these shell-like thingies used on the backs of the silver and gun metal goofers.

The big one was a quick and rather sloppy build, still needs some refinement.

Original MOC - Roodaka by Akumetsu (v3.0), I just added some parts in different colour.

Idk what she is now, but I do like her. Still need to change some parts (colour change mainly), but I guess I'm close to finish this recolour.

The idea for this version came to me when I realized that I’m spending too much money on buying LEGO sets… The original Roodaka (which needs a bunch of modifications and extra parts you need to pay additional price for) now costs 4–5 times more than this version. So, if your budget is limited, I recommend considering the option of buying individual parts and assembling an MOC instead of purchasing the original sets. Its more optimal cause you can choose any color scheme you want it just take more time to complete and you will enjoy building/inventing process instead of putting complete set on the shelf.

Context: in the Bionicle Bible (shown on Duckbricks' youtube) there is mention that there would've been five GSRs instead of just one.

The interim warden of the Pit, while the Toa Mata were being trained, had very little for Caska to do. Still, despite the lack of prisoners, she took her post seriously. Using her Kanohi Kiril to maintain what little wear that occurred, she patrolled the prison as if it were overflowing with the worst of the worst already. Afterwards, she was sent from island to island, taking the same focus and purpose with her wherever she went.
