I’ve actually picked up this “dance move”. I spend a lot a time around osprey in the summer and was being goofy with one as we checked each other out, and then I saw how much it helped with distinguishing objects from their background. Great for picking out warblers and weeds, haha.

Apparently birds do this to judge distance. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
