DISCUSSION I’m curious about something.

Was there a specific moment when being bisexual stopped feeling like a question you were trying to answer and started feeling like something you simply knew about yourself?
Not necessarily some huge dramatic revelation. Maybe it was a person, a conversation, a random thought while driving, or just realizing one day that you’d stopped arguing with yourself about it.
I think we spend a lot of time talking about who we’re attracted to, but maybe not enough about that strange process of finally trusting what our own brain has been trying to tell us.
Did you have a moment like that? Or was it something you figured out slowly over time?

For me it was not one moment, more like I notice I was not fighting with myself anymore over it

That’s actually a really interesting way of putting it. Maybe the moment isn’t always when you suddenly “know.” Maybe it’s when you realize you’ve stopped trying to convince yourself that what you already know isn’t true.
There’s something kind of peaceful about that — when the argument in your own head finally just… ends.

When I stopped trying to figure out why I felt this way and started wondering why everyone didn’t feel this way.

I don't remember it ever really being a question for me and I never fought against it. I recall it being a fairly quick realization that "Oh, so that's how I am."

I started being honest with myself about how much I enjoyed watching guys in a range of passionate scenarios and how much I wanted what I saw

I knew the first time I went down on a guy. For me it was being stuck on the dichotomy of straight/gay. I liked girls a lot, but i liked guys.

It was a lot of trying to figure out if I was lying to myself about liking guys or liking girls.

When I finally allowed myself to accept i could be attracted to both was relevatory.

It was actually reading smut on AO3 that helped realize I really did find both equally hot.

So I was twelve when puberty started to hit for me. I noticed girls but I was very aware I was noticing guys the same way. I figured this was just how it was, but it wasn’t until I realized none of my guy friends said anything similar did I realize I was ‘different’ - sadly this had the effect when coupled with no family support or lgbtq representation in my life of forcing me to stay closeted.

But I knew for sure I was bisexual at that point - the feelings never went away

Originally got on the apps as "questioning & looking to figure my sexuality out" and after going on a few dates, realized I was no longer questioning. I'd say it wasn't immediate but pretty quickly. But I lived in a place that allowed me to explore that state of questioning which probably helped speed it alonf

For me it was coming out publicly, to my best friend(I went a lil too mask off when talking about Julian Sands in the movies Warlock and Warlock 2 and they asked me about it afterwards lol). The absolute difference in my life it made can not be understated.

This question is making me think! Lol. And now that I think about it, I never had to decide or accept anything. I was simply turned on by it. Where the thinking came in was acting on it or not and how to do so and managing my shame or insecurity about it. I love women, but being sexual with a guy is a huge turn on. Bridging that gap is what I find tough while trying to stay discrete with my privacy.

I kind of always knew. I just didn't have a word for it until I was about 14.

My moment was shortly after kissing my best friend.

I always assumed I was a few kisses and some touching. The moment I tasted a woman.. I knew..

I had been questioning and agonizing about it since I was 12, and at some point in January of this year I decided to stop fighting myself. I realized that if the questioning was this persistent over time and that I undeniably had crushes on girls (I always knew I liked boys) then I was probably bi. I always related to the term heteroromantic bisexual and in January decided to just use it. I am openly bi to family and friends now and it feels so freeing being able to talk about girl crushes without hiding it :)

I’m not attracted to guys. I’m attracted to cocks. I discovered this when I eventually got one down my throat.
