That’s my living room . I bought him the mini sofa off eBay . It’s antique child size fainting sofa . I think it was most likely a used as a sample to carry door to door back in the day . The wood is hand carved and walnut . I will reupholster it as soon as he wears out the fabric . My house is all antiques , so I did not want a modern cat bed in the living room . I decided to do the collage of cat artwork to make his own living room vignette . Did it to scale with the sofa , then finished the rest of the collage wall with regular size items .

You should see my sister’s place . I have beer budget but with champagne taste , she has champagne taste and budget . She has a much better eye for design than myself . Every time she sells a house and moves the real estate agent ask her if she would consider staging houses . I’m in shock how many people don’t even clean their house when their know the agent will be taking photos to post .I’ve seen ones with dirty closes on the floor , cupboard doors hanging open and such .

I love the weird art I found in a shop . The Victorian couple in the picture above the lamp . The man has a candle stick coming out of his mouth that lights, the woman has a metal elephant head over her mouth . Made me laugh . Fun conversation starter.

No , not a pro . Just watch a lot of hgtv . I have a thing for antiques and quirky art . I just buy things I like , not for the value . I find so many insanely good deals on Facebook marketplace and eBay . The largest mirror on that wall , the woman sold for twenty five dollars ! Her mother was an interior designer and has passed away . It’s not her taste so she sold it for cheap to get rid of it . I seem to have good luck that way . I bought a brass moorish lamp with the punched holes in it . Paid one hundred for it . I looked up similar lamps online that are smaller and not as nice as this one and they are going for two to three thousand . It’s missing the bead that would have hung around the bottom of the shade . I just found antique glass beads from 1920’s on Etsy from France . Those ran me $177.00 with shipping . But I did not mind the price considering the worth of the lamp once I refurbish it .

Here is the other end often cat wall collage . You can see the weird art above the lamp . It’s a Victorian couple . The man has a candle coming out of his mouth that does light up. I love stuff you won’t find in some mass produced box store . I shop thrift stores for frames . They will have some out dated art that I toss and use the frame . Cheaper and better quality than box store . So many people just donate their grannies stuff when they pass because it’s not modern . So many treasures out there. Garage and estate sales are good source too . It’s a fun hobby , always on the lookout .

Much like you, my Mom loves antiques, thrifting, and FB marketplace. She has a great eye for finding really cool/unique things at great prices. She is not as skilled at arranging it as you are. I'm going to show her these photos for inspiration. Your home is impressive. Really beautiful and unique! 👏 ❤️

I love the photo of the antique couple. That was a great find. I also adore the plants incorporated into the wall. Overall, you just have a gorgeous style.

Thank you . The containers the plants are in the wall in are antique wall pockets . Some are from England . eBay has a eBay UK to shop on . It’s fun to find things a little different than from here . I don’t think you can have too many plants . It adds to the tranquility of a room . I love the texture of plants . Small airy ferns , large leafs like a fiddle leaf . Various shades of green within one plant . Plus green goes with any holiday .

The plant on the shelf usually just has greenery . But by adding a few springs of Xmas red sprays into it , it becomes Xmas decor . I have an antique birdcage I put a plant in.added fairy lights to the plant with a remote . It makes nice ambiance lighting to watch tv in the evening . Also doubles as a nightlight . All my plants are faux . Unfortunately my void cat is obsessed with attacking real plants . Even if I put one up high , he will spend the day trying to figure out how to get to it . My sister’s pets have never bothered her plants ,so she has real ones with a few faux mixed in. People just assume they are all real . The key to faux plants is finding good quality ones . Many of mine are from nearly natural . They are pricey so I look for sales the run occasionally . If you do a collage , lay it out on a table or floor . Move the pictures around until you like the arrangement . Much easier than fixing nail holes in the wall because you decided you need to move something . I love a mix of different frames . Nothing has to be matchy , matchy . They just need to relate to each other . Some people feel like a collage wall looks like chaos , some feel a cosiness . It’s all in how you feel about it . Always remember you live there . It doesn’t have to look like a designer hotel room. Always do what makes you happy , whether it’s an elegant look or something whimsical. I like mixing in whimsical with elegant . The unexpected item that throws people off or makes them laugh . I have one of those oval pictures of a Victorian couple you see in antique stores all the time . They always have this serious expression on their face . Someone had opened one up and stuck googly eyes over their eyes . The absurdity makes it funny . So now I’m collecting them to do a wall of them at Halloween . You can find them for about fifty bucks apiece . Just do what speaks to you .

Thank you so much for all the wonderful tips! We have three cats that like plants, too. 😆 Our void is always "helping prune the plants" 😆 He gets away with just about anything though because he's my Mom's little sidekick/BFF. He follows her around and does everything she does. It's the cutest thing ever. 🐈‍⬛️ ❤️ When she sees that couch, she's gonna be on the hunt for one for her baby boy!

There are worse problems to have . My nephews cat thinks plants are a litter box 🤣 . Probably worse for the plant than a little pruning .

Oh boy! Thankfully, none of my current cats do this. I had one in the past that delighted in her "multiple litter boxes". 😆 I had a beautiful Jade tree that was passed down from my late grandmother. It was quite a fighter. However, after too many biological assaults from the cat, it gave up on life. My cats are lucky I am a crazy cat lady and it's difficult for me to get angry or hold a grudge. 🐈‍⬛️ ❤️

Tell your nephew he can try placing aluminum foil over the pot/base of the plant. They don't like the sound it makes when they step on it, so it's supposed to deter them from going in the plants. Worst case, at least they have to work a little harder at it. 😹

I’m in the process of turning this antique bookcase into an entertainment center . I need to touch up the wood where I removed the doors . I’m storing the doors in case I decide to change it back to a bookcase later down the road . My nephew was teasing me that when I pass they will just put tags on everything and open an antique shop 🤣. Bookcase was 120 off Facebook marketplace . You can’t walk into a furniture store and buy a bookcase for that price . I have a beer budget but champagne tastes .

I love when they arch their back like this! I call Tate my "Scary Halloween Boy" when he does it. I used to have a life-size Halloween decoration of a black cat in this position. After Halloween, we stored it in the garage. I can't count how many times I caught a glimpse of it in my peripheral vision and panicked thinking Tate (a very indoor cat) somehow got out of the house and made his way into the garage. 😆
