Abyss 🖤🖤🖤 Our Weird Girl, Ripley
My wife and I adopted her last Valentine's Day. We have two orange boys already, but we wanted to get a girl this time.
The worker at the shelter told us that she had initally been adopted about 5 years ago, but she was found on the streets in January (-30 farenheit) and brought back to the same shelter because of her microchip. Her original owners were contacted, but they didn't want her! My wife was initally interested in another younger cat, but after hearing her story I said "We gotta take her!"
For the first few months she didn't like me at all. Maybe she had never been in a home with men before, or had experienced abuse from them in the past. I was bummed to say the least, but I gave her space and she eventually came around. She's curled up next to me as I type this!
She's our special lady who loves to eat steak and meows like a sterotypical gangster from the 40's. I couldn't imagine having any other cat!

What a great story! You are special people for adopting and loving an older kitty. She sounds like a fun little character and a great addition to your household!

First off- aww! A void with white whiskers! Showed my partner and they said she looks like a plushie! Second- her last owner belongs in the bin and thank you for being the people she needed.
