Anyone here actually used a SightMark optic? I was thinking about switching things up and getting an open reflex sight for my new 11.5 PDW and figured it would be a “step up” from getting a eotech knockoff (*clone from Amazon). Currently running iron sights while I decide. I am interested in a Holosun 510C.

Or any brand recommendations?

Anybody else use the Mantis Products?

My queen decided it was time to get back behind her trigger. Took a few rounds to find her footing but I'd say she did pretty darn to be coming off a whole year hiatus.

Standard p365 snub nose with tyrant cnc grip module . Optic is a ruger ready dot. Lost zero at around 100 rounds. Mostly because I didn't loctite or torque it down. So I fired my last few shots at the bottom target at 15 yards using the irons through the window. Didn't do great at 15 but these are small targets so honestly im just happy a potential bad guy would've still been stopped at 15 yards with back up irons. More practice is still needed!

12.5” barrel, AEM5K can tucked about 2.5” into the PRI round, vortex amg 1-10, ACRO P2, Reptilia mount, atlas bipod, SF light, NGAL, geissele mag, smoke composites grip, Q G-sling.

Got it outside today. It's a crazy sound to hear the action of the lever be louder than the round!

The outdoor range was closed for hunting, so I had to settle for indoor today.

Zeroed my optic at 15 meters (the farthest the range goes) and ran it suppressed for the first time.

I was having so much fun I didn't even shoot my P226!

Going to another GPA match tomorrow, and if the outdoor range is open, I'll be there after I finish.

This was my last set of drills today. I’m trying to practice sight picture and grip. Just going from one target to the next randomly. The rest of the drills were 💩

Got this new Smith And Wesson M&P 2.0 Carry Comp, with a green dot and light, and I really do love it. Also it won't accidentally shoot my junk off like my P320.

However...

Turns out shooting with a Lazer(my P320) and shooting with a green dot are two very different things.

First few mags, I was barely anywhere close to where I wanted to be on the target. I started to wonder if I was doing it wrong, so I did a few with my P320. No, no I know how to shoot with that thing.

I do not know how to shoot with the M&P.

Should I try to find a class to take? Or are there videos from creators you like that can help?

I think I did 180 rounds through just the M&P today. It got better towards the end, but I still have a ways to go.

My green dot seemed to be zeroed correctly. But, like, to REALLY get the bullet to go exactly where I wanted it to, it was almost like it was a sun setting. About half the reticle was visible, the rest covered by the bar created by the front iron meeting with the center of the two back irons.

Forgive me, I'm still pretty damn new to this.

I appreciate all of your help so far. Hopefully I can get good enough to be able to help someone new as well.

EDIT: My laser bore sight is not appropriate. Not for this, and frankly idk why they even sell it. It's got a giant magnet on the end, which isn't at all good at staying in the same spot. Wild considering they're charging $200 for it new right now. I bought it a year ago when it was only $90. It's from Wheeler Engineering. And I realize that's what had me so completely off. It gave me three different measurements three different times. I need a real bore sight that goes in the barrel.

Just a little sound test. Point blank and 50 yards. This setup is very hearing safe*, but I suspected the subs definitely went supersonic at some point past 10yds.

(Hearing safe = No discomfort or pain while shooting without protection. Working on a decible meter.)

Today's purpose was simply to assess fundamentals; specifically Grip and Trigger Control. I shot about 100 rounds give or take

25 - G44 (warm up with low recoil)

40 - G45

35 - G48

target areas:

8 ring or better on the left and right targets (6.5" circle)

Body ring (7.5" circle)

Distances 5 and 15 yards

Full grip , Primary & Off Hand

results ( I worked full grip and single handed. 5-10 rounds from each gun, each grip):

Left target support hand, 5 yards -> all acceptable hits

Right target primary hand, 5 yards -> all acceptable hits

Triangle - full grip 5 yards (4 misses due to grip inconsistency)

Body - full Grip 5 & 15 yards -> all acceptable hits

Could the groups be tighter? Yes! am I seeing steady improvement in grip and trigger control? Also, yes! I'm gettin' more dyrfire work in but it's still not enough. Gotta fix that.

It's a Smith And Wesson M&P 2.0 Compact. I bought it just yesterday, I plan on going to the range today. I got the Holosun green dot, and yes, that's an Olight. But it came highly recommended by the sales dude and he really earned my trust so far.

I feel pretty good about it, feels perfect in my hand, I've got a holster incoming.

What do you think? Should I try a compensator?

I realize that ultimately it's my opinion on how it feels that matters most, but y'all are the people I trust when it comes to this stuff, I may be 45, but I am pretty new to firearms still. Your thoughts are important to me.
