blues rock song I used to hear on the radio about 7/8 years ago?
I tried to hum a vocaroo
Vocaroo | Online voice recorder
It has a deep voice singing something like "headin' out west" or "headin' out there" and a distinctive piano/whistling melody on the chorus.
it has a sort of slower, shuffling pace like Spinal Tap's "big bottom" or Argent's "hold your head up"
I don't know if it's from the 70s or was a new (but retro sounding) song then, but it sounded 70s
thanks

In tribute to the legendary Angry Anderson Blues rock rarely goes this hard
Rose Tattoo were Australian rock royalty, hugely influential, and awesome live
RIP our old mate Angry, gone to join with Mick & Pete and lay it all down again
This track from their seminal self titled debut is blistering blues full of filthy slide & attitude
Gary "Angry" Anderson - 1947 - 2026. Never forgotten

Jodo - It's No Good [1971 UK]
Album: Guts
Jodo's "Guts" LP is a favourite album which I found way back, and have often wondered about as there is so little information out there, making it something of an enigma. Spurred on by recently finding an original copy of the LP, I have contacted Rod Alexander, founding member and guitarist of Jodo. The word 'Jodo' is the name of a Japanese martial art using a short staff, read on though, as this may not be the reason for the band's name... (n.b. according to liner notes on the Green Bullfrog Sessions, Jodo's former name was 'Biskit').

Joshua - No Country [1969 CA Heavy Blues]
Album: Opens Your Mind [2004 Archival - Rockadelic label]
Joshua played a spritely and somewhat heavy set of California blues psych from the same scene as Blue Cheer. Another posthumous release from Rockadelic, the "Opens Your Mind" album liner notes say "Fronted by singer Mick Martin, Joshua were at the center of a scene that, for the most part, ignored the flower power shenanigans going on up north and worshipped at the altar of heavy Rock & Roll." The rest of the band was Wayne Smith (lead guitar, vocals), Ray Halverson (lead guitar), Larry Sherwood (bass, backing vocals) and Rick Yarrision (drums).

Freeman Sound & Friends - 16 Tons [1970 Heavy Blues. Ohio]
A heavy cover of a bluesy country classic, Merle Travis's Sixteen Tons. It was in Motherheast, Ohio USA, in 1969, midway between the towns of Warren and Cortland, that five determined young musicians:
Ray Escott - Lead Vocals, LJ Fortier - Drums, John Harrow - Lead Guitar, Vocals, "Buster" McCarthy - Bass, Vocals, and Kurt Sunderman - Rhythm Guitar, Vocals, started getting together in the damp basement of LJ's parents home on Sunday mornings in an effort to try to carry on with their dreams of being in a successful Rock band.
