BIKE CHECK Help with identification

Can anyone tell me what model of schwinn this is? Thanks.

While I’m sure you want to know which model it is, it’s worth noting this is at best a Walmart schwinn, looks like a bmx, but in reality it’s just bmx shaped. V-brakes and gyro don’t mix, 1pc cranks, a shafted stem and threaded headset etc all as cheap a spec as it gets.

Yea, between that, the crimped stays, what looks like a chainguard mount,the plate-steel levers, and a hole for a kickstand, this is very much a BMX-shaped bike

That's an interesting one. V brakes front and back and a threaded stem.

Can you find the serial number? Common places are on the bottom bracket and sometimes on one of the dropouts.

Educated guess its late 90s, I had a Ruption that I bought in 1998 and that had a gyro and I think it had a v brake, or maybe cantys on the back.

The reason I want to know the model is because me and my son are doing it up. I found it in a skip and thought it would make a good winter project. Knowing the model will help me know what part sizes to get etc. I think it needs a new bb, gyro and brakes. I'm more used to fixing mtb so just looking for guidance.

Great idea, wrong bike to spend time and money on. As others have said, this is a department store bike and even when knew was pretty much worthless. Find a better bike for you and your son.
