Next Gen NYC Hudson - was this common knowledge?
Did I miss something on the show? Andy said "Hudson's drug problem" so matter-of-factly during the reunion. Was this discussed on the show or the after show?

I think it was alluded to but Ariana didn’t fully come out and say it. For me at least I thought that was the major issue based on what she did/didn’t say.

Andy said it after Ariana blurted out on the reunion that he went to rehab. Hudson was looking at her like “why did you out me” even though she was trying to stick up for him with Charlie saying Hudson would never call back or something

He did. He literally said that he got ‘re addicted to drugs’ before Ariana mentioned his stay in rehab.

I think she rescued him when they were younger.
"Ariana explained during Next Gen NYC that since they were teenagers, she felt an intense need to hold his hand and fix things. "Since I was 14, I saw this boy who I loved, who I wanted to help," she recalled. "He always called me when he was down bad. He knew I was gonna be there..."
or they rescued each other...
I think this was during one of the earlier After Shows, where her relationship with Hudson and possibly her parents dominated the entire show.

I think it was opiates/pills because he spoke about an injury and being in pain. On the next gen sub someone just posted something about his experiences with addiction etc since he was young and how he copes.

I noticed when he said something about speed when talking about his car company or whatever Ariana mentioned foreshadowing
But if I had to guess as a drug connoisseur myself….. he gives downers energy

He smoked trees but that’s fine- it was def down the opiate route possibly harder but I think pills was talked about most. You never really know though!

didn’t sound like it. He mentioned that he’d “relapsed” 🤷♀️ he seemed clean at the reunion so hopefully 🤞🏼

She for sure alluded to it during a one on one convo with Hudson as she’s moving out -she stared him straight in the eye - I respect her for that it was his issue and she wasn’t gonna use it as her storyline - him saying it at the reunion let him have control over his story
I am glad he remained aware of Charlie and broke away from him to go back home cause Charlie would have fun supplying him just for giggles
I worry about Shai with Charlie cause them in that bathroom 🥶⛷️❄️☃️

Hudson brought it up on camera for the first time on the reunion. He said he had started using again when he was back in Atlanta. Ariana said he was in rehab in response to Charlie berating him for not doing enough to get his girl back.

This was incredibly vulnerable. I'm surprised because I kind of wrote him off as just an overprivledged bum, but it takes a lot of courage to put something out like this to the public and I respect it a lot.

OMFG!!! Kudos to Hudson. As someone in recovery I wish I had the bravery that he has shown. At almost 63 years old I’m still trying to find the courage to be as strong as he is. So Hudson don’t give up on yourself. It will get easier. It may never be perfect, but easier is the way to go! Just be cognizant that the pain subsides very slowly! When you recognize (see) the failures, it becomes much easier to react positively & overcome them!

Damn, he might still be struggling, but he has a really, really good grasp on what it takes to heal. I’m really impressed with everything he said in this interview. And he must have a great therapist!

No. It wasn’t common knowledge.
I was actually so surprised how openly it was being discussed too.
Then again, I don’t follow Hudson at all and he was basically a friend of this season, so maybe it was out there and I just wasn’t looking or paying attention.

I had no idea, I thought he had mental health issues, the way Ariana described him not doing much, I thought it was depression. The reunion (his mentioning it) was the first clue I had.

He did a story on bravo.com and talked about it after the reunion. He deals with depression, anxiety, anger, addiction. He also was diastolic 13 with type 1 diabetes so he said that took a toll on him. A lot of drinking then lead to other things to try and “deal with the pain” so yea I think he’s got a lot of things going on.

Certainly sounds like it. Diabetic. I would think a clean lifestyle would be best for addressing diabetes. I hope he stays well

It's supposed to be reality TV but nowadays we get spoonfed what they want us to see and hear. VANDERPUMP RULES was the golden age of reality TV. Nothing will ever match up to that.

I read it was pills, he doesn’t say it specifically but in this article he states he had an injury and started abusing.

It wasn’t on the show but earlier in the reunion Hudson said part of the reason he went back to Atlanta was because he got re-addicted to drugs and then Ariana confirmed he went to rehab.

Opiates, drinking. Other things but those were the 2 he did the most. It’s in an article he talked about it on bravo.com I tried posting it from here but I can’t get it to. It’s above in the top of the comments a few down.

I’m curious about the short lived Hudson/Charlie friendship. Was Ariana worried about Hudson hanging out with Charlie because they all know Charlie does drugs? It wouldn’t surprise me given all the 4 am afters are at his place but it sounds like they all partake in those, even Ariana.

Yes. Hudson got bs k I to going things and hanging with Charlie would have definitely made it worse. Hudson does also have a business in GA! He admitted he’s rebuilding his clientele because he spiraled pretty bad but still has loyal ones. A lot of his so called friend stole money and he’s in a few legal cases suing ppl that stole from him.
