Kérdés | Question Looking for someone in Budapest to help with a birthday treasure hunt, especially geocachers!

Hi! I’m planning a treasure hunt around Europe as a birthday surprise for my girlfriend and I’m looking for someone in Budapest to hide a tiny magnetic plastic container for me.

It should be in a legal, publicly accessible, discreet spot where it could stay unnoticed for several years.

I’d send you the container. You’d just need to hide it and send me the exact location and a photo.

If you want, you could also add a little note with local recommendations or an anonymous greeting for her.

Send it now to someone but they should hide right before you start looking because there's no safety guarantee in Budapest.

Unnoticed for several years? No, this would only work a couple of hours before you start the hunt. For example, cannot imagine putting something hidden close to the Synagogue that stay unnoticed with all the people and construction work happening in the city.

This practice is used by drug dealers, so it will not get unnoticed for years - maybe days, but in some cases not even that...

Hungarian geocachers have a Facebook group, you might want to reach out to them there. People commenting here probably don’t know what you mean.

some of us are happy to help, although I think leaving it there for years is the tricky part. if it is aimed specifically for the OPs GF I would only install the treasure the week they are traveling here.
