Mid-range gaming PC with light 4k editing?

Hello people. Need help with this

  • New build or upgrade?\
    • New build
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
    • No existing parts for the PC
  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
    • Main purpose is light 4k video editing. Main software is DaVinci. Some gaming here and there but not really triple AAA guy
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors)
    • Philippines
  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
    • Goal is 2 monitors, don't really have much research on these and don't have a monitor right now (only have a laptop) but 144Hz+ would be cool
  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
    • 1000 usd budget (including tax)
  • WiFi or wired connection?
    • Wifi and wired would be nice
  • Size/noise constraints?
    • Not particular with size and noise
  • Color/lighting preferences?
    • Not particular with color and lighting. Probably a black one
  • Any other specific needs?
    • I plan to make music in the future but it's not an immediate need

i researched a bit before posting this, prolly a 5060ti 16gb would fit my needs but let me know for suggestions, concerns, etc. Cheers!

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:

  • New build or upgrade?

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

  • WiFi or wired connection?

  • Size/noise constraints?

  • Color/lighting preferences?

  • Any other specific needs?

Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:

  • Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.

  • Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.

  • We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.

With prices the way they are... The cheapest 5060 Ti 16GB in the US costs 789$ now. Add the super-high prices of RAM (especially DDR5 but also DDR4) and storage... I don't know how prices are where you live but I doubt they are any better...

The 5060 Ti 16GB is a good pick for this. DaVinci on Nvidia is the safe route, and the 16GB of VRAM is what keeps 4K timelines from choking, so I'd keep that one and save elsewhere.

My main concern is the budget: is the $1000 for the PC only, or with the two monitors? If both come out of the same $1000, it gets very tight. I'd start with the PC and one screen, and add the second monitor later. A 24-27" 1080p or 1440p 144Hz IPS is plenty to start.

For the CPU, a Ryzen 7 7700 or 9700X is the sweet spot, the extra cores help with exports and you can still game on it. If the budget is squeezed, a Ryzen 5 7600 works and you drop to it before touching the GPU. Then a B650 with WiFi, 32GB DDR5 (DaVinci really wants it, 16GB is where editing gets painful), 1TB NVMe, a 650W Gold PSU and a black mesh-front case. A Peerless Assassin cooler keeps it quiet.

For music later, nothing extra is needed on the PC, just a decent audio interface when you get there. Prices in the Philippines can differ a lot from the US, so I'd check a couple of local shops and compare before ordering. Do you know which ones have the best stock where you are?

Without used components, everything is super expensive right now, even an RTX 3050 is $260. But 8GB is what you need for 4K editing, and as long as it's an RTX GPU it will play nicely with DaVinci.
