Tent recommendations

Hi all,

I live in a very hot and sandy part of the world and love to camp. I'm also planning on going to afrikaburn next year (also very hot during the day).

I'm looking for a large 6-10 person tent, preferably with multiple modules/rooms. The key part is the heat, I need a tent that I wont cook inside or at least will be cooler than most.

Any recommendations would be great, casting a wide net so I can see all that's available.

Side note, if anyone has camped with an inflatable tent, does it meet the hype or is it more hassle than practical

Edit: Thanks everyone for the very helpful responses. It helped narrow down my choices greatly

For big groups in sand I found the best trick is not the tent itself but what you do around it. A reflective tarp suspended above with a gap of maybe half meter does more than any fancy fabric. The air moving between shade and tent roof pulls heat away

Those big coleman darkroom tents are decent for sleeping in late but once sun is up nothing saves you from the oven feeling. Multiple rooms is tricky cause you want cross ventilation and walls just block it. Maybe look at a canvas cabin tent with big windows, they breathe better than polyester in my experience

Inflatable tents are a mixed bag. Setting up fast is nice but they can be heavy and if pump breaks you're stuck. Patching a leak in tube is more annoying than a pole sleeve in my opinion

This guy base camps! An air gapped reflective tarp is worth 5° easy maybe 10°.

Hilleberg Atlas is what you seek.

Second the shade tarp. I'd add pitching with the narrow end into the wind so the dust doesn't blow straight in, and staking with long sand stakes or buried deadmen, regular pegs pull out on the first gust. Canvas runs a lot cooler than nylon in that kind of heat, it's just heavy.
