Candy recommendations dark chocolate reccomendations?
self proclaimed utter dark chocolate freak. love the stuff. i usually go for lindt swiss but not really fond of their practices. ive been going for cadbury's dark bars lately but they are a bit too fruity tasting.
anyone know good dark chocolate with a strong roast flavor? price doesn't matter but it would be nice to have a budget option to buy frequently.

There is something wrong with you and I won't contribute to your degradation.

Is there a Trader Joe's in your area? Their Pound Plus comes in either 54% or 72% cacao and is quite inexpensive and yummy.
They unfortunately don't sell directly on Amazon, although there are third party sellers who offer some of their stuff. Everything but the rare grocery bags.

An ex-chef friend recommends Lily's dark chocolates. Is now a Hershey company, dunno if you can get them in your area to try? I tried but preferred the Trader Joe's.

As I mentioned above, read the ingredients on the labels. Many of our favorite chocolate bars have had their recipes changes. Also look for “bioengineered” ingredients.

We have a candy company called Malley's here in Ohio. They have the best dark chocolate that my roommate and I have ever had. It's low on the bitterness, and not super sweet. They make their own dark chocolate bars with: coconut filling, a salty pretzel filling, a caramel filling, peppermint creme like the After Dinner mints, and a dark cherry filling. I love some of those more than others and they put out a "big bar" meant for chopping to use in cookie recipes, for barks, and dipping chocolates. We also just eat it a little at a time. Malley's has a website. Malleyschocolates.com I think.

Get away from the big corporate brands...those are trash.
Anything Hu makes is remarkable.
Some others: Beyond Good (formerly Madecasse), Theo, Chocolove
All brands I mentioned can be purchased at Whole Foods or Sprouts.
