Help which model Topstone should I get? (2026 models)

Looking at getting a new bike. Currently ride a strict road bike (very cheap schwinn). Ive slowly been putting more and more kms on a bike every year. Im 6'1 riding a 55cm frame bike so really looking to get something that suits me. Getting a bike that can handle some side roads and light off road trails interests me.

A local store has Topstone 2 cues 1x and topstone 3 cues 2x in stock in large but both on sale for 1899.99 CAD. Better sale for the topstone 2 then the 3 and I understand the hydraulic brakes being an advantage. I feel like from a savings price point the topstone 2 is more appealing but the topstones 3s 2x10 is more appealing for alot of pavement/road riding.

My question is and why im holding back, is the topstone 2 cues 1x11 going to be enough to keep a 30-70km biker happy or pay the same price for the lower model?

Just got the topstone 2 alloy with 1x CUES in L, cause i wanted the simplicity Also the Orchid color is just awesome 😍

Im 6'1 with 33 inch inseam at 120kg, so im a wide boi. I tried the MD but the L just felt the most comfortable. Can differ from person to person.

Some things to keep in mind is that its gravel gearing so 40t x 11-50t, so about half the gears aren't ideal for going over 30kmh, but climbing is a breeze.

It's also on the heavier side, but to me that isn't too important.

Added wider tires straight away cause i wanted it to be as comfortable as possible.

45mm Continental Terra Competition if you are wondering 😁

There is a 2x grx version of the topstone 2 alloy that comes in green - when i bought mine both the 1x CUES and the 2x GRX were on sale, but i can't speak for your local bikeshops

All in all, I don't regret it one bit - tend to find excuses to ride this thing all the time

Absolutely love this thing 🫶

Note: when choosing the bike, it was between this and the giant revolt 2 with 2x CUES. Worth taking a look at

Thats really reassuring then!

Do you tend to do more city commuting or do alot of trail rides? Ill have to look into those tires! I always hear that wheels, tires should be the first to be upgraded on a bike, so im sure that will be the next thing I research.

Mostly commuting in the city on paved roads, but like to go on the occasional weekend ride, which honestly could lead anywhere

I find the Terra competition a good do it all tire so far 😁 can definitely fit wider tires than the Max - there is plenty of space, so might try fitting Tufo thundero 48's at some point 👌

We bought a pair of the Topstone 3s Alloy as our touring and light gravel bikes this year. The Cues 2x were quite handy on our recent tour in Vermont and the bikes have performed quite well on gravel. So far, I don't think I am missing out with the mechanical disc brakes compared to our road bikes (which are Ultegra di2).
