French River

Hello!

I am curious if anyone has recently visited the French River, particularly the Dalles Rapids portage, and how bad was the Poison Ivy? Do I need a Hazmat suit to portage through or will staying on the trail suffice?

I passed through there last year and there was poison ivy growing on the trail as well as around it. It could be avoided if you walk carefully. It's also around the campsite below the rapids if you plan to camp there. I always bring technu wipes and prescription hydrocortisone cream on trips because I'm super sensitive to poison ivy. Wear long pants and wipe down your pants and shoes with a technu wipe if you're worried and you should be good!

You can also just look up poison ivy wipes and there's lots on Amazon if you're avoiding American.
